April 2, 2015
Meeting called to order at 1800 hrs
Roll Call: Commander Jess Lawson, Adjutant Mike Schubert, Finance Officer Paul Meye, 1st Vice Ken Ulrich, 2nd Vice

Guests – Val Santo, Coach, Al Yarrington, Joe Munday, Bill Bechtel, Cat Katz. House Committee members – Jon
Reynolds, John Lindgren,
Robert Wright Judge Advocate – addressed the up-coming election process. He will address this issue to the Entire
Membership tonight.
Legion Family and Donations:
SAL – Tomidan Jordan – April general meeting 350 attended, $2100 donation to Fisher House, Toast to Fathers June 20
Auxiliary – Pier Warmuth – Raffle car was returned to the dealer & payment given to the Auxiliary. Auxiliary Executive
Board voted to donate the proceeds – $20,500 – to Fisher House. It was requested that Post match the donation by
Auxiliary.
ALYC – Opening Day May 3, Sundowner Races May 4
Marina Mark Kovaletz – Changes to Marina rental agreement approved regarding Length vs Bean on 30 ft slips. New
regulations for new slip rental agreements. Current slip holders will be’ grandfather-in’

M/S/C waive reading of March 5, 2015 Executive Board Minutes – Judge Advocate – Robert Wright – Made a motion to
correct the March 5, 2015 Executive Board Minutes. M/S/C to correct the March 5, 2015 Executive Board Minutes to
read: “In Closed Session – Judge Advocate made recommendation on two (2) Incident Reports he was holding. M/S/C
to send a letter of admonition to one Post member.”
M/S/C to approve E-Board Minutes of March 5, 2015 minutes with corrections.
M/S/C to wave reading of House Committee minutes

Commander
The settlement agreement was reached in the MATTER OF STEVEN SPRIGGS, V. JESS LAWSON, ROBERT
WRIGHT, KEN ULRICH, PAUL MEYE AND DOUG NYE. The agreement was read and will be read into the minutes of
the General Meeting.
Elections Committee – Confirmation vote to accept nominees at March 11, 2015 General Meeting was only a
confirmation General Membership to permit nominees name to be placed on ballot, not a vote for the filling of the
position. There is no change in the Election procedures.
Refrigerated/Cooler – Work complete. All City and Health Dept. permits have be signed & received
Office remodel – Office change has is complete
Kitchen Electrical Project – Don Putzig – additional bids are being obtained for moving the lighting electrical panel
Music and Sound Permit – Doug Nye, Roger Henry and Jess Lawson continue to communicate & negotiate with City
Officials. The City has referred us to their sound consultant for advice and possible solutions to resolve our Amplified
sound issues. City Sound Consultant report is being prepared.
Bar & Restaurant Manager – Dennis Fitzpatrick accepted fulltime position
Financial Report – Paul Meye
Consolidated Financial Reports for March will be completed & emailed on April 10, 2015
Financial Reports are available at front Office for review at any time during regular business hours

Officer Reports
1st Vice - Ken Ulrich – Post 291 membership 3,609 (106% of goal). 40-new member will be inducted at the April General
Meeting. New membership applications will be held until July - 2015-2016 member year.
2nd Vice – Roger Henry – Sound Permit for amplified sound is in review & continued negotiation with Post and City
officials.
3rd Vice – Ken George – 30-Delegates have been selected for Boys State. Naval Sea Cadets are looking for a place to
hold drill and conduct meetings
Service Officer – Hoedown successful event, over $2K raised to help homeless Veteran families.
Chaplin – No report
Historian – No report
