Mark Schroeder, United Vaccines Assessing the 3 Parts of the Human Mind Using assessments to gain insight into employee behaviors and facilitate team building has become common practice. Some companies are using assessments not just for leadership personnel, but rather across the entire organization. In this session we will look at the 3 distinct parts of the human mind, and explore the organizational usefulness of understanding an individual’s behaviors within each. We will also take a brief overview of the different assessment tools that have been developed for each of these 3 parts of the mind, and discuss the use and merits of each. Assessment Instruments being overviewed: The Meyers Briggs MBTI, the D.I.S.C, Kolbe A, B & Career MO+ Indexes , and Xyte Cognofile. Jennifer Hughes, High Touch Technologies Can’t We All Just Get Along? This session will speak to the different personalities that are found within our organizations. Understanding these personalities and how they work with one another is crucial to successfully managing and developing a cohesive team. A team that needs a rebel, as much as it needs a hero. Brittney Hall, The Management Trust Taking Small Steps to Climb a Big Learning Program Mountain (When You Thought You Were Walking Up a Little Hill) This session will explore the advantages of an incremental approach to implementing and planning a new learning program, and how this approach can lead to a bigger and better program than seemed possible at the beginning. Wess Robison, Superior Energy Safety Requirements and BizLibrary OSHA / Safety Requirements are not only important when keeping employees safe while performing their work responsibilities, but they are also heavily regulated. This session will show you how to create a system that identifies which employees need which requirements and how to effectively track them along with their frequencies makes the process manageable, easy and professional. John Gwynn, Viewpointe From Training Event to Training On-Demand Using Viewpointe as a case-study, this session will trace the company’s transition in building a training function from scratch with limited resources. One of the keys to success has been Viewpoint’s approach to identifying training needs. You will see how Viewpointe’s Organizational Need Assessment process focused limited resources on a big challenge. The results have been substantial gains in staff development and industryleading employee engagement. The program proves that training does not have to be expensive or intimidating; it can be a great source of employee participation and pride. Succession planning programs hold the potential to identify internal talent who can adapt, learn and acquire many of these hard-to-find skills, if we think about succession planning a little differently. Consistency and accountability by both corporate and franchise partners were key goals of the implementation of RED Academy. We will share best practices and the considerations taken as the brand set up User and Resource Groups, migrated content from the Corporate Intranet and Franchise Extranet, tracks and records both internal and external continuing education, and made RED Academy the standard for OSHA and regulatory compliance in the Internal Audit process. Red Roof Inn implemented RED Academy in 2014 and continues to learn more and greater ways to take advantage of the system. In this case study, you will hear how an organization avoided a disastrous learning program launch by asking a series of good questions to establish the framework for the design and subsequent implementation of a new employee training program. Before embarking on the launch, the program managers learned the organization lacked some foundational structural elements that are prerequisites to a successful training program.
