Find it at:http://archive.angus.gov.uk/externalfunding/toolkit.htm European Funding Portal This month the Scottish EU Funding Portal was officially launched, in partnership with Scotland Europa, East of Scotland European Consortium, West of Scotland European Forum and the Scottish Government. The link to the Portal is: http://www.funding-portal.eu Investing in Communities (stage one applications) – deadline Stage one applications to Investing in Communities (Growing Community Assets, Life Transitions and Supporting 21st Century Life) will close on at 12 noon on 30 June 2015. More information on this can be found at http://bit.ly/1GOVVUY Funding for Business If you are a business or working with a business looking for funding, they might benefit from visiting the Business Angus website for a variety of funding opportunities http://www.businessangus.com/BA/info/2/business_development FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES ARTS CARERS COMMUNITY TOWNS ENVIRONMENT HOLIDAYS SPORT SCHOOLS YOUTH FINANCE HEALTH 1 ARTS CASHBACK FOR CREATIVITY: OPEN ARTS FUND The scheme: Open Arts Fund aims to Increase the numbers of young people participating in high quality arts programmes, Increase the access to arts programmes for young people who would not normally have access, or who are considered to be vulnerable or at risk of offending. They are also supporting Young People build their confidence and self-esteem, and develop positive behaviours. Amount – Up to £10,000 Contact – http://www.youthlinkscotland.org/Index.asp?MainID=11887 Deadline – 30th April 2015 CLARY JACK FUND The scheme – Aims to support voluntary organisations and charities working with women and children, particularly on projects combining expressive arts, singing and art therapy. Amount – up to £2,000 Contact - http://bit.ly/191wyls for an application form through Foundation Scotland. Deadline – none, but apply 8 weeks before you need a decision. CARERS CREATIVE BREAKS The scheme - Creative Breaks provides grants to third sector organisations working in Scotland to increase the range and choice of short break opportunities for carers of adults, kinship carers, young carers and the people they care for. Amount - The maximum grant is £50,000 for one year. Successful applications will receive their grant in September 2015. COMMUNITY COMMUNITY INNOVATION FUND The scheme - The Community Innovation Fund is a £2 million fund which NHS Tayside is making available to groups of people living in communities across the area. Amount – Between £500 and £35,000 Contact - http://bit.ly/1BUlGPn Deadline -Ongoing AVIVA COMMUNITY FUND The scheme - Offers funding to voluntary and community organisations for projects that will make a real difference to local communities. Projects should focus on one of the priorities: Health, disability and well-being, Supporting the younger generation, Supporting the older generation or Community support. Amount - 4 levels of funding ranging from £1,000 to £25,000 Contact - http://www.aviva.co.uk/community-fund/ Deadline – 24th April 2015 2 PEOPLE'S POSTCODE LOTTERY SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME The scheme – Aims to make the UK a better place for both people and the planet. They want to make a real difference to small organisations and community groups. Amount – £500 - £2,000 Contact - http://www.postcodetrust.org.uk/small-grants.htm Deadline - 30 April, 30 October 2015 TOWNS STALLED SPACES The Scheme - Community groups in Angus are invited to apply for funding to develop ideas on 'Stalled Spaces' in their towns. Successful projects should aim to bring new life to vacant or derelict land which may be causing blight on a town and be better utilised by the community. Ideas may include projects such as Community garden, Container allotment, Outdoor education, Outdoor event / exhibition, Pop up activity such as play area, cinema Outdoor gym. Amount – Average grant £3,000 Contact - www.angus.gov.uk/stalledspaces Deadline – 13th May 2015 ENVIRONMENT THE ERNEST COOK TRUST GRANTS PROGRAMME The scheme - Schools, charities and not for profit organisations wishing to encourage young people's interest in the countryside and the environment, the arts or aiming to raise levels of literacy and numeracy can apply for funding to the Ernest Cook Trust (ECT). The Trust operates two grant making programmes. . The grants programmes supports state schools and small registered charities which would like to undertake projects which meet the Trust's objectives and require a small amount of pump-priming in order for such projects to take place. Amount – Small grants: Under £4k; Larger grants – over £4k. Examples - £2,000 to help buy iPads for Key Stage 2 pupils to enhance literacy lessons and cross-curricular work; £7,500 to buy new computers and software for the Learning Support Department. School children joined world-class musicians recently in a creative music project. The next closing date for applications for the large grants programme is 31July 2015. HEALTH CITY HEALTH CARE PARTNERSHIP FOUNDATION SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME The scheme - The programme provides grants to local voluntary and community organisations, schools and/or other not-for-profit organisations to carry out activities, projects or one-off events that contribute towards the health and wellbeing of people. To be eligible, groups and organisations needs to have been in existence for at least one year, have an annual income of less than £30,000 and work for the benefit of the local community. Amount – Up to £1,000 per group. £5,000 is available per quarter Contact - http://chcpfoundation.chcpcic.org.uk/pages/small-grants Example grants -Previous grants awarded include providing clubs to young children over the Halloween and Bonfire period offering better choices such as sport, dance, karate, discos, DJ and team building; and a grant towards a continuation of the wildlife garden project. Deadline – 1 June, 1 September, 1 December, and 1 March. Groups/organisations will be notified by the last day of these months. 3 HOLIDAYS FAMILY HOLIDAY ASSOCIATION - HOLIDAY GRANT The scheme - Through its funding programme families on a low income, that have not been on holiday for the past four years and have at least one child between three and 18 years of age can obtain financial support for a break during 2014. The FHA can only accept applications from referring agents and not directly from families. The holidays provided are generally in UK holiday parks such as Haven or Butlins. Holiday park breaks include free accommodation, linen rental, entertainment passes and holiday insurance (subject to medical conditions). FHA may also make a contribution towards the family’s holiday expenses. The demand for holidays is usually greater than the funding received so FHA recommends submitting an application as early as possible. SPORT SCOTLAND SPORTS FACILITIES FUND The scheme - This programme covers the provision or upgrading of all facilities for the general community. In the main, proposals will be led by local authorities, clubs, trusts etc. This funding stream funds developments that are for the public good and will provide equitable opportunities for increased sports participation by the community at local level. Amount - There are two funding streams: Small Projects under £100,000 and Large Projects over £100,000. It is expected that up to 25% of project costs will come from other funding sources. FINANCE MSE CHARITY The scheme - The MSE grants programme will re-open for applications on the 1st May 2015. The MSE Charity provides grants to constituted community based groups (including schools) for projects to help fight financial and consumer illiteracy and to educate and inform adults and children about consumer and debt issues. Priority will be given to groups with an annual income of less than £300,000. Amount - grants of up to £5,000 are available. Contact - https://www.msecharity.com/ Deadline - 31 May 2015 or when 40 applications have been received SCHOOLS THE LORDS TAVERNERS’ OUTDOOR PLAY SPACES The scheme - Special schools catering for children with severe learning and physical disabilities can register their interest for its Outdoor Play Spaces grants programme. The programme provides funding towards outdoor play equipment. There are three overarching outcomes for the programmes: Improved educational attainment, Improved health and Increased employability for the future. Amount - £2,000 Contact - http://www.ambitionuk.org/news/view/99 Deadline – 30th April, 31th July, 30th October HEDLEY FOUNDATION The scheme - The Hedley Foundation's main objective is young people - their education, recreation, support, training, health and welfare. There are also two subsidiary objectives disabled people and the terminally ill. You must be a registered charity to apply. Amount - Grants are for specific projects only and are usually up to a maximum of £5,000. Contact - http://www.hedleyfoundation.org.uk/ for the application form and guidelines. Deadline - Trustees meet six times a year and the closing date for applications is three weeks beforehand. Trustees will meet on 26 May, 22 July, 16 September and 18 November. BBC CHILDREN IN NEED – SMALL GRANTS The scheme – This funding stream aims to make a big difference for children and young people of 18 years and under who are experiencing disadvantage. This year, BBC Children In Need is looking for more high quality applications for small grants, especially from groups they’ve not funded before. Amount - One-off grants of up to £10,000. Contact - http://bbc.in/1lSnwuX Deadline - 1 June 2015 THE HILDEN CHARITABLE FUND SUMMER PLAY SCHEMES GRANTS The scheme - small budget to help community groups run summer play schemes for the benefit of children from refugee and ethnic minority families.
