Our Lady Catholic School sixth graders created a “real-to-life wax
museum” of people who lived during the 1400s to the
present time.
After reading a biography, each student created a
presentation about the person they studied, and took on the
person’s identity with costume, knowledge and behaviors
so that the person could “come alive” for museum visitors.

Waste” lunches, and a prayer
service.
The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission along with St. Louis Civic
Pride Foundation invites students in grades 3-12 to enter the Ultimate St. Louis
Tourist Contest. During the summer months, students take the opportunity to visit
local attractions, and then, write a 500-word essay, or create a short video, about
their experience. For more information, http://explorestlouis.com/ultimatetourist or

Around the Archdiocese...
Saint Mary Magdalen
Catholic School received
a recent visit from Junior
Achievement volunteers who are
also employees at local Schnucks
stores.
We pray for the repose of the
souls of all the faithful
departed, and especially for,
Kenzie Haselhorst, age three,
sibling of Toby Haselhorst, a
student at Good Shepherd Catholic
School in Hillsboro. Kenzie’s
grandmother is the cook for the
school. Kenzie died on April 20
after a brief illness.
Deacon Dave Bolderson, long-time
faculty member at Bishop DuBourg
High School,
May they rest in peace.
Amen!
The JA volunteers demonstrated
their real-world experience through
a variety of hands-on activities and
instructional materials. JA’s goal is
to open the minds of students to
their potential.
Each class had a great day enjoying
age-appropriate presentations geared towards critical thinking, reasoning, and
problem solving skills.
Valle Catholic High School students, faculty, staff and volunteers
participated in a spring Service to the Community Day in Ste. Genevieve. The
event is designed to support the school's mission to instill in their students the
desire to serve their community and
become givers in life.
The day began with a prayer service, and
ended with Mass to celebrate all of the
blessings God has bestowed on their
parish, school and community.
For all who are sick, and for
their caregivers...
Luke Kahrhoff', son of St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic School
language arts teacher, Gwynne
Kahrhoff. Luke has been diagnosed
with T-cell Lymphoblastic
Lymphoma, and his mom’s students
raised $1,200 to support Mrs. K.’s
participation in this year’s St. Jude
Nashville Marathon!
In between, everyone worked very
hard helping local businesses, groups
and individuals in need of some type
of assistance—painting, weeding,
mowing, etc. Service to the
Community Day has become a
tradition at Valle, thanks to former Valle Principal, Sara Menard.
All Saints Catholic Preschool participated in the nation-wide
celebration of the Week of the Young Child, April 13-17, celebrating the
youngest learners and their families.
Every day held a new and exciting experience—Breakfast
with Mom & Dad, Hat Day, Pajama Day, (pictured at
left) Popsicles with Parents on the Playground and Fruit
Salad Day.
Fruit Salad Day was a favorite! Each child brought in his or
her favorite piece of fruit as an extension of a faith lesson
in which they learned about all the wonderful gifts God has
shared with us on Earth.
The children cut up their own piece of fruit, contributing to
the class fruit salad, where they happily shared with one
another in the same way God has shared with us! —What a great lesson! Thanks
for sharing!
