FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arts on the Credit: Inspired, Original Art
Port Credit, ON – “Glass is the most mentally and physically exerting material available”, explains Tommy
Cudmore, one of this year’s new participating artists in Arts on the Credit. Cudmore is one of the
talented resident artists working and teaching at the Living Arts Centre’s craft studios, Mississauga. “The
intensity of working with molten glass allows me to escape my outer world and recluse into my internal
creativity”, says Cudmore.
Glass is only one of many different media to be discovered at the show. Arts on the Credit will also
feature original works in wood, jewellery, textiles, clay, photography and acrylic and oil paints. Some
works are a combination of media, as is the wood furniture combined with glass created by Peter
Marcucci and his brother, David and the clay work combined with glass by returning artist, Jolanta Jung.
In its fourth year, Arts on the Credit has blossomed into a much larger show, expanding by over thirty
percent to forty-two artists. As well as its many talented Mississauga artists, Arts on the Credit has
drawn from beyond the Mississauga borders. Toronto-based artist, Nicole Kagan reveals, “All surfaces
fascinate me”. She explores the richness and complexity of dualism in her collage work-above/below,
presence/absence, movement/stillness.
Toronto, Dundas, Hamilton, Oakville and Burlington are all represented as well.
Much more information about all the artists can be found at www.artsonthecredit.ca
