Provide county youth with an educational experience relating to 4-H and
FFA projects, activities, personal skills and accomplishments.
Provide recognition and inspiration to county youth and youth leaders
for encouragement toward greater achievement.
Provide an opportunity and challenge for county youth to broaden
their relationship with other youth and with the 4-H and FFA program.
Provide a dynamic and comprehensive review of 4-H and FFA and their
accomplishments to the people of the county.
Provide an educational opportunity for county citizens to learn from
judging of displayed produce, foods, clothing, flowers, and photography,
arts and crafts.
Serve to foster community spirit as volunteers unite in a common effort
to provide a colorful, pleasant, and educational event.

5. All 4-H, FFA and Open Class entries need to be picked up Monday
April 28th, 2014, between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Exhibitors must present an entry card to withdraw exhibits. Exhibits left after 7:00 pm are
left at owner’s risk. If you are unable to pick up your exhibit on Monday,

6. Premium checks will be mailed following the fair. If entry forms are not
legible we are not responsible for delivery of premium checks.
7. THE FAIR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY ENTRIES
OFFERED.
8. For the safety of exhibitors, exhibits, animals, and fairgoers, NO DOGS
are allowed on the fairgrounds or in the halls, EXCEPT for leashed
project animals displaying the proper 4-H bandana.
9. ADULTS ARE PROHIBITED from preparation of livestock, and the
cleaning of stalls and pens at the fair. These activities ARE the responsibility of the EXIBITORS. Other Asotin County 4-H & FFA members
can help (but not do all of the work) in preparation of other member’s
exhibits while at the fair. The member must be present during the preparation of their exhibit. Exceptions can be made for Fair Royalty if they are
attending other fair related activities. Arrangements are to be made with
the barn Superintendent in advance.
10. Any large animal exhibit into the Asotin County Fair may be used in the
livestock-judging event. The exhibitor will have their animal ready for
show at the request of the barn superintendent. The Asotin County Fair
Board, Asotin County 4-H Leaders , or Asotin and Clarkston FFA Chapters are not liable for any accident or injury that may occur while the
animal is on exhibit. If an exhibitor refuses to have their animal in this
event, they will be disqualified from the show and forfeit any premium
money of awards.
1. Anyone entering any article in the Fair must fill out an entry form. All
entry forms must be completely filled out (all sections). Please PRINT
legibly. Address labels are accepted and encouraged.
2. A separate entry form must accompany each exhibit submitted.
3. Exhibitors must label their exhibit from the Exhibitors Handbook and
enter the name as given, using the exact language of the Handbook, giving the Department, Class and Lot.
4. 4-H and FFA groups have assigned areas for Fairground cleanup. Groups
MUST do pre-fair and post-fair cleanup in their assigned areas. Areas
not cleaned by the second Sunday after fair will be cleaned for a fee of $20
per pen. All Premium and Animal checks will be withheld for the entire

INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, while on the Asotin County
Fairgrounds, by an exhibitor will result in the automatic dismissal from the
Fairgrounds. The person will be turned over to the proper authorities and
parents will be notified to remove the animal from the Fairgrounds. The
exhibitor will NOT BE allowed to sell their animal during the Livestock Sale. •
12. Youth Horse Rules. No riding of horses on any road, paved area or on the
lower parking level. All horses must be led to the riding area with 1 helper. •
Riding area is the warm-up arena around the horse barn or the arena itself.
Remember SAFETY FIRST.
13. No horses allowed in the grass areas. Horse may be tied to the hitching posts.
There are limited stalls available in the Horse Barn, and must be reserved
with the Horse Superintendant. The rodeo stock pens are available during
the horse show only to hold horses while not in use for the show.
14. Please clean up your area on the upper and lower parking lots. Do not leave
hay or manure. No feeding of hay outside of trailers on the upper parking lot.
ENTRY RELATED PROBLEMS
Any problems that arise concerning any entry in the fair are to be brought before the
livestock or hall superintendent concerned. If the problem is not resolved at that level,
the Board Member over that department will be contacted, and the fair board to resolve
the issue.

In November 2014 at the Washington State Cattlemen and CattleWomen
Convention I was named Washington State CattleWoman of the year. The
selection is not a competition but rather submitted by contemporaries, a
humbling moment. I am really proud to carry the title.
I am truly honored to be the Grand Marshal of the 2015 Fair and Rodeo, it is
a distinguished group of predecessors to follow.

Hello everyone! My name is Casey Jacobson,
and I am your 2015 Asotin County Fair and
Hells Canyon Rodeo Queen.
I was born and raised in Clarkston, WA and
I am the 16 year old granddaughter of Ellen
Klein. I am currently a sophomore at Asotin
High School.
I have been involved in Rodeo since I was 5
years old, and have been a part of many 4-H groups, and have participated
in many local horse shows, Omoksee’s, play nights, and Rodeos. I also enjoy
other extracurricular activities such as volleyball, Central Idaho Rodeo
Association, Lewis-Clark Saddle Club, and the 49er’s Saddle Club along with
being last years 49er’s princess.
Rodeo hits home to me in many ways, I have been around the rodeo world
my whole life, and I absolutely love the atmosphere. I am fortunate enough
to be able to ride a fantastic 16 year old AQHA bay gelding names Roper, that
I use for roping, and of course royalty.
Royalty takes a lot more than a pretty smile and glitter. It helps to be
intelligent, a diligent worker, and to have a great sense of humor.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
4-H shows first on even years followed by FFA
1. Residents of Asotin County, and/or youths attending Asotin County
schools, of those who are enrolled in FFA or 4-H as of November
1, 2014, are eligible to compete in the Fair. A nonresident who is
enrolled in Asotin County 4-H and complies with project guidelines
is eligible to compete in the Fair.
2. 4-H members MUST be enrolled in the projects they are exhibiting by
November 1, 2014.
3. All exhibits must have been made since the previous year’s Fair. 4-H
exhibits MUST NOT have been made as a school project. School
projects may be entered as open class. Exceptions will be made if the
exhibit was made as an Asotin County 4-H School Enrichment.
4. ADULTS ARE PROHIBITED from preparation of livestock, and
the cleaning of stalls and pens at the fair. These activities ARE the
responsibility of the EXHIBITOR. Other Asotin County 4-H & FFA
members can help (but not do all of the work) in the preparation of
other member’s exhibits while at fair. The member MUST be present
during the preparation of their exhibit. Arrangements are to be made
with the barn superintendent.
5. Primary Members are limited to 10 entries per Department.
6. Primaries will NOT be judged in a competitive fashion. Their role is
for Participation Only. Refer to Extension Publication EM 4840.
7. Primaries will receive a participation ribbon and are NOT eligible for
Trophies or Special Awards.
8. All members, including Primaries, must abide by the 4-H and General Rules for each Department in which they exhibit.
9. All exhibits will be judged on the Danish System, according to merit.
Awards will only be given if merited.
The Danish System of judging is based upon established standards of
quality for each type of product. In this system, each exhibit is judged

according to how well it meets the standard rather than how well it
compares with other exhibits. It does not compare one person’s work
to another. The evaluation is made against a project standard. The judge
evaluates whether the requirements have been met. Stickers/ribbons
are awarded according to the degree that the member’s project meet the
standards. A participation ribbon may be awarded to an exhibitor whose
work fulfills the minimum qualifications.
10. Exhibitors are limited to one entry per lot unless otherwise specified.
11. Superintendents are responsible for disqualifying unsatisfactory
exhibits.
12. ALL 4-H and FFA EXHIBITS WILL BE PRE-ENTERED. Exhibits
must be entered using department, class and lots listed in this premium book. Pre Entry for General Projects, Crafts, Sewing, & Photography only requires you to list the names of the prokects you are
enrolled in. YOU DO NOT HAVE to list each item you made on preentry form. Exhibitors are responsible for correctly completing preentry forms. Completed pre-entry forms ARE DUE in the Fair Office
before March 2, 2015, at 2:00 – 6:-00 pm.
13. Entry tags will be furnished. Incomplete tags will force disqualification of exhibit. Exhibitors age division will be noted on every tag
as Primary (Grades K-2), Junior (Grades 3-5), Intermediate (Grades
6-8) or Senior (Grades 9-12). Juniors must be 8 years old and in 3rd
grade and seniors not over 19 years old by January 1 of current year.
The primary division is for participation only; exhibitors are limited
to ten entries per department.
14. Entries are placed on exhibit at the owner’s risk. Supervision during
public hours is provided. The fair, its employees and volunteers are
not responsible for theft or damage to exhibits.
15. Exhibits may be picked up from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM the Monday
following fair. Exhibitor must present their entry card to withdraw
exhibits. For exhibits left after 7:00 PM, Monday, exhibitors will need
to contact the Fair office. Any exhibits removed before 4:00 PM on
