Welcome to the Bolton and Rochdale District Newsletter.
This edition includes details about events, dates for your diaries, training opportunities, links and
contacts. If you have any information to share then please contact us so we can include this in

13th – 14th April: Lay Employees Retreat – Crewe
From lunchtime Monday 13th April – lunchtime Tuesday 14th April there will be a retreat for
Methodist Lay Employees.
The retreat offers space for lay employees to step back from the busyness of their work to reflect
on how they find God in their everyday lives and how they can integrate reflection and prayer into
their daily activities at work and at home.

This is part of the new Connecting Disciples local programme.

It is free, and in the beautiful Wistaston Hall, Crewe.
The event is hosted by Edel McClean and Jasmine Devadson who are both part of the new
staff in the NW&Mann Learning & Development Network.
Jasmine and Edel will offer a warm and gentle space for conversation and reflection.

The District has been linked with Phakamisa at Pinetown Methodist Church in South Africa for
many years. Thokozani Poswa who has taken over as Director of Phakamisa from Glenda
Howieson is making her first visit to the UK and will be at Victoria Hall between 11am-3pm if you
would like to pop in and meet her and have a chat and find out more about the work of
Phakamisa. She will be doing a half hour presentation on Phakamisa at 11:30am and 2:00pm.
Please come along and show your support.

A weekend conference focussing on understanding mental health and mental illness, particularly
