Creative Movement (3-5
years) This magical
experience combines basic ballet steps, creative movement, and gross motor skills.

Summer 2015
Pre Ballet (6-8 years): This class combines basic ballet
steps, based on an RAD syllabus, and creative movement.
Mon 4:30-5:30, Wed 10:00-11:00
Ballet (ages 7 & up, by placement only): Classical ballet
and pointe (Jr. IV-Advanced) are taught using the Royal
Academy of Dance syllabus & other methods.
Junior I (7 & up, 2nd grade & up) Mon 3:00-4:15. Wed

Junior II (8 & up, 3rd grade & up) Mon 1:15-2:30, Wed

Jazz Dance An eclectic dance form that combines the
structure of ballet with other styles.

Modern Dance Modern dance is an expressive dance
form based on historical and contemporary techniques.

About BDA
Barrington Dance Academy, founded in 1989
by Mary Brennan, is the area’s finest school of
dance. From fostering the creative instincts of
the pre school child in a fun environment, to
providing top quality dance instruction for
our older students, BDA has earned a
reputation as the very best. Noted for our
world class instructors, the Academy
provides a creative and supportive
educational setting. We provide an
environment in which anyone from the
recreational student to the most serious
student can grow in the art of dance. It is our
hope that through exposure to dance, our
students will become lifelong supporters of
the arts.
Tuition & Registration
Summer tuition is due by June 1st for
currently enrolled BDA students!
 To calculate tuition, total the number of hours





per week for each student and apply to the
chart. Families add each student’s total together
and receive a 10% discount on that amount.
New Student Registration Fee: $10.00
Creative Movement & Pre Ballet add a $5.00
costume & prop fee each term.
Tuition is nonrefundable and payable in advance.
BDA accepts check or cash only.
Single class rate: $18.00 per hour.
Families may pay in two equal installments for
students enrolled in more than 8 hours. First
installment due June 1st. Second installment due
July 1st.
Attire
Ballet:
Ladies – Pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be
pulled into a bun. Jewelry should be removed
before class. Wrap dance sweaters may be worn.
No legwarmers, t-shirts, or dance pants are allowed in ballet class.

white skirt
Jr. I: Pink leotard
Jr. II: Powder blue leotard
Jr. III: Navy blue leotard
Jr. IV: Light purple leotard
Inter I: Hunter green leotard
Inter I/II: Maroon leotard
Inter II: Dark purple leotard
Advanced: Black leotard
Gentlemen – white t-shirt and black pants or tights,
black ballet shoes
Jazz: Jazz shoes (optional), Jazz pants/shorts & tight
fitting tank tops may be worn
Modern: Access to bare feet (convertible tights)
Schedule
The Summer Term is a 10 week term. There will be no
class on July 4th, Independence Day.

Parents Week
Parents are invited to observe class during the week of
August 10th - August 14th. Creative Movement & Pre
Ballet classes will have a special in class performance for
family and friends.
