The vision for the annual Basingstoke Green Week is that it will continue to grow and continue to provide an opportunity for all local companies, producers and charities to get their message out to residents across the borough. The market in 2015 will take place in Porchester Square, Festival Place and spaces are offered free of charge. If you are a local company with a ‘green’ product or a local group wanting to gain interest for your ‘green’ projects see the contact details on the back of this leaflet to book your place. Chineham Greening Campaign Litter pick – one of the many projects taking place in the Chineham area to improve the environment in this area. To volunteer for projects in the Chineham area please contact [email protected] Free junk sculpture workshops For children at Proteus Creation space. Clothes swap evening Very popular event. It would be great to organise more of these throughout the year. Free wood chip and compost collection Sustainable re-use of the council’s parks plant waste. The council are working to see if this is possible to continue throughout the year. Basingstoke Environment Group’s Network Evening A chance for your group to present its good work, make connections with other groups and share your ideas. Local Food and Eco Market at Belvdere, Basing View At Belvdere, Basing View – a chance for local producers and charities to promote their products to the people working on Basing View. Bicycle Maintenance Westside Community Centre, South Ham This practical session proved very popular and was quickly fully booked. It would be good to see sessions running at other community centres throughout the year. Northwood Orchard organic farm open day Film shows, pizza making, live music and stalls. Local Businesses – Promote your ‘green’ product or service Last year AXA opened up their roof garden for visits, which was a popular and quickly booked event. We would love to hear from other businesses who would like to take part in some way during Basingstoke Green Week. See below for contact details.
