RESEARCH SUPPORT Current Health Sciences Research Pilot, Gorman (PI), 04/01/15-03/31/16 Role: PI University of California, San Diego Academic Senate Young Women’s Response to a Pregnancy Test Dispenser in a Drinking Setting The primary goal is to refine and assess the acceptability and feasibility of a low-cost strategy for prevention of alcohol exposure during pregnancy in a high-risk drinking setting (bars). Total direct costs: $9,917 Translational Research Award, Su (PI), 06/14-05/17 Role: Co-investigator California Breast Cancer Research Program Intervening on Reproductive Health in Young Survivors The objective of this study is to develop and test a Reproductive Survivorship Care Plan intervention that targets young breast cancer survivors and their healthcare providers, with the primary outcome as change in patient-reported hot flash activity. Total direct costs: $793,769 R01, Su (PI), 09/14-08/19 Role: Co-investigator NIH/NICHD The Reproductive Window in Young Adult Cancer Survivors Using innovative approaches to recruitment and large-scale biosample collection, the study will identify determinants of the window of ovarian function after cancer in order to guide patient counseling, individualize risks and preserve opportunities for biologic parenthood. A randomized controlled trial to adapt and evaluate two culturally appropriate methods of screening and intervention to prevent risky alcohol use among reproductive-age American Indian/Alaska Native women.
