Blaine Lake Newsletter June 2015 Issue 15-6 Town Council Meetings The regular monthly meeting of the Town Council will be on Monday June 15th. 2015 and Monday July 20th, 2015 at 8:00 am in Council Chambers. A reminder that all Council Meetings are open to the Public. Any non-profit organization that has a community event they would like included in the Town’s monthly newsletter or on the website should contact the Town office by not later than the 27th of the month. We will try and include your event! FULL-TIME SUMMER STUDENT EMLOYMENT POSITION TOWN OFFICE CLOSURE DAYS IN JUNE The Town Office will be closed from Wednesday June 3rd to Friday June 5th and again on July 1st for Canada Day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The BLCA and the Town of Blaine Lake invite applications for a summer student position. Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 16 years old & have attended school in 2014-15 and must be returning to either High School or to a post-secondary institution in the fall. A Driver’s License is an asset. Dates & Salary: This position will pay $12.00/hour – 35 hours per week under the Student Summer Works Program. The start date is July 2, 2015 & end date is August 28, 2015. Duties will include (but are not limited to): - Mowing/whipper snipping grass - Facility maintenance - Assisting with the development of a new children’s playground/park To apply for this position please submit a resume to: BLCA Box 313 Blaine Lake SK S0J 0J0 Email – [email protected] Fax 306-497-2511 Resumes must be received by no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 4th, 2015 Open Air Fires in Town The only burning that is permitted in Town must be done in a non-combustible receptacle constructed of cement, brick or sheet metal with a minimum 18-gauge thickness and it must be covered with a heavy gauge screen with openings not to exceed 13 mm. The only thing that can be burnt in the fire pit is seasoned wood or charcoal. Fires must be supervised, properly ventilated, and the smoke from the fire must not interfere with another person’s use and enjoyment of their property. We are looking for volunteers to help assemble the equipment on Saturday, June 6th starting at 1pm!! If you are free, please contact Karleigh at 306497-3319 OR Vanessa at 497-2222. Cenotaph Park Playground – Grand Opening Picnic will take place Wednesday, June 17/15 at 5:00pm! Come out and enjoy a free hotdogs, salads and drinks. Entertainment and official opening of the park!! Don’t Miss This Fun and Exciting Event!!!! All Welcome!!!
