MRS WENDY STAMP
MRS WENDY STAMP INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE STANDING FOR BURNHAM on CROUCH TOWN COUNCIL ELECTION & MALDON DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION 7TH MAY 2015 REPRESENTING BURNHAM NORTH I am originally from Lincolnshire and started working within the Hospitality Industry, working in various parts of the country until I moved to London in 1983. I worked as a contract catering manager in The City and the West End in various prestigious merchant banks. In 2004, together with my husband, we started HVAC, a heating & plumbing business. We employ a local apprentice and I am responsible for the finance and administration. We moved from Eltham to Burnham on Crouch in 1997 after a recommendation from a friend who lived in Mayland, we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy London based jobs and wanted to start a family. Our daughter is currently studying A levels and wants to work in London. We lived in the town centre for five years until we moved too Maldon Road in 2002. I’ve always been interested in politics but became more involved in local politics when the Sea Scout Hut required a huge refurbishment and I helped to raise funds from local groups and businesses. I also had major concerns with the large housing developments proposed for the town so I became actively involved in the progress and process of the Local Development Plan. One of my main aims is to protect the town’s unique character whilst ensuring services are maintained and enhanced. I have a strong desire to help and contribute to our community, keeping all our residents informed of what is being discussed and proposed at both town and district level. Local voices need to be consulted and whilst I won’t be successful every time, I can put their opinions, views and ideas forward for the town’s greater benefit. If I am successfully elected, I look forward to working with everyone elected on the town council to ensure a vibrant, successful community for all.
