We owe it to our members, to social work, and to all those served by social workers, to look to the future and become the social work association that is needed over the next five years and beyond. We will do this by building on the strengths, experiences and knowledge that BASW has developed during its rich history and by creating a vision for how this will be extended to meet the demands of these times. This day will provide an opportunity for our members to be involved in shaping this vision. We will also be focusing on the future of social work, and have invited speakers who in diverse ways will speak to the importance of hope and possibility, both that social work needs and that social workers can engender in others.
