SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2015… SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS FOR DRIFTING EVENT: 1-2nd May 2015 @ Zwartkops Raceway (ZKR) - SupaDrift Series National Championship Round 03 RAIN DATE: - NONE JURISDICTION Held under the International Sporting Code of the Federation Internationale L’Automobile (FIA), the International Code of the FIM, the MSA General Competition Rules and Standing Supplementary Regulations as far as they apply to Drifting, the SupaDrift Rules, Regulations and Specifications and these Supplementary Regulations and the Race Day Rules. 1. PERMIT NUMBER: MSA 13795 2. TITLE AND STATUS: The event will be known as the: “SUPADRIFT SERIES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT 03 - 2015” 3. ENTRIES: Maximum Field 42 MAX Class/Category DRIFTING 7. MINIMUM / MAXIMAM ENTRIES Minimum / maximum entries in the first round of the competition are as follows: Minimum: • DRIFT – 8 x Cars. If the minimum number of competitors is not met, entries will be accepted but no points will be awarded and no prizes will be paid out. 1 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2015… Maximum: • The maximum fields listed in these Supplementary Regulations are merely an indication of the amount acceptable per class however race control and the event program are based on the number of entries received by the closing entry date. The organizer reserves the right to accept or refuse late entries at their discretion and or to meet the racing program schedule. 8. CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: ENTRIES ARE ALL BY INVITE. 9. ENTRY FEES FOR EVENTS The entry fees for SupaDrift Series NATIONAL/REGIONAL Championship Event are: DRIFTING ENTRY FEES: R400-00 per entry – EVENT PERMIT AND PUBLIC LIABILITY; REGIONAL LICENCE -‐> R895-‐00 plus compulsory medical R455-‐00 = R1350-‐00 FOR YEARLY LICENCE. Per competitor. Can do Club / Regional Events only NATIONAL LICENCE -‐> R1250-‐00 plus compulsory medical R455-‐00 = R1705-‐00 FOR YEARLY LICENCE. Per competitor. Can do Club / Regional or National events. *ONCE OFF – Entries will only be accepted if accompanied by a bank deposit slip or by cash payment with the entry form. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Organizer and will be double the initial entry fee. This may change on the day due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, which are beyond control. Day 2 (2nd May), the Main Event starts with a brief practise session from 08h00-12h00. At 12h15, a drivers briefing will ensue. The official event starts at 13h00 whereas Qualifying Rounds and ceding runs start. Finals (day 2) ensue at 15h00, therafter with Top 32…or a Supa 16 (depending on the competitor entries and weather -> under discretion of organisers). Head to head tandem battles lead up to a semi-final and final bout between the top drifters of the day. A Supadrift Series National Championship Round winner is crowned at the end of the day (+- 18h00: day 2 – 2nd May) 13.COMPETITORS RESPONSIBILITY AND ELIGIBILITY – VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY: All competitors must hold current MSA National Championship Licenses, valid for the status of event concerned and endorsed for Drifting. All Motorcars complying with the SupaDrift Series Rules and Regulations – discrepancies are under the adjudication of the organisers. 14.LENGTH: The event will be contained to the Zwartkops Raceway, Pretoria West, Gauteng 15.START/TIMING: Scrutineering from 12h00 -> 1st May. Drivers briefing at 12h15 (2nd May). Event qualifying starts officially @ 13h00 (2nd May). The different brackets are as follows: CATEGORIES AND CLASSES: CARS Drift Vehicles There is no minimum/ maximum cut off time 16.POINT SCORING: *see SupaDrift Series Rules and Regulations 17.RESULTS AND PRIZE GIVING: Prize Giving takes place in the Pits/Paddock building at least 30 – 60 min after the event is completed on the 2nd May 2015. 3 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2015… 18.PRE START REQUIREMENTS: A Competitor may not practise or start until: a. He or she has completed all formalities at documentation and produced a valid MSA license. b. His or her vehicle complies with the rules and class entered and has passed scrutineering. c. Competition numbers and any advertising material have been fixed to the vehicle as required. 19.PENALTIES: A Competitor may be disqualified for: • Static burnouts on the tarmac… • Failing to report to the COC to register in respect of the vehicle breakdown before the start of main race. • Obiding by the rules of SUPADRIFT SERIES and the ensuing Racing Circuit • Hooliganism and any Profanity. • Failure to attend drivers/riders briefing. • Driver/Crew leaving car/unattended in the pit lanes. • Depositing foreign matter including debris or oil onto strip or staging lanes, except in the case where an accident has occurred. • Un-sportsman behaviour. • Driving dangerously. • Driving excessively fast exiting the pitlane. This includes crew vehicles. • Being suspected or seen to be consuming alcohol, regardless of the amount before or during the event. • Behaving in a manner, which could prejudice MSA and the Organizer. • Disregarding a specific instruction from an official. 20.GENERAL: • No vehicles may be entered more than once in the same event. • All new applications for National licenses are required to have full MSA acceptance before attending the event. • Vehicles participating in the SupaDrift Series event must be presentable in appearance at all times. ORDER OF INFRACTIONS: 1. Failing to report to the start line on time. 2. Crossing or touching the astro or strip centre or boundary lines other than leaving the strip intentionally. (In all instances the run is to be aborted and no score will be recorded). 4 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2015… PASSENGERS: A passenger may be carried in a Drift vehicle subject to the following conditions: 1. Approval shall be at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course (CoC). 2. The vehicle must be of a sedan type nature. 3. The passenger must sign a form indemnifying the respective track organizer/s and MSA from any misfortune. 4. The passenger must be afforded the same measure of protection as is afforded the driver ie. Long sleeves and long pants. 5. During designated times as determined by the CoC 21.OFFICIAL QUALIFYING: In order to constitute an official qualifying attempt, all cars must self-start and selfstage. 22. CHANGING CARS: The Clerk of the Course has the option of allowing a driver to change cars but only under the following conditions. § Changes must be made before the qualifying round and driver must have entered and scrutineered the additional vehicle within the event Rules and Regs -> the vehicle must be in the same class/bracket as the one that is replaced. § No changes are permitted after qualifying has been completed. 23. START LINE PERMISSIONS: At the discretion of the Clerk of the Course, only Officials and Crew Members (with valid stickers/pass) are permitted on the start line area or pre-race paddock/stage. 24. ALTRENATES CANCELLATIONS a) In the case of an event being cancelled due to weather conditions, such as torrential rain – the event will be cancelled. All attending competitors will be allocated ‘Appearance’ points as per SupaDrift Series point system. • It is the responsibility of the Competitors to report to the track on the day, regardless of weather conditions. A decision as to whether the event is cancelled to the rain date will only be made /discussed by the Race Organiser and Officials towards midday and qualifying sessions. • If an event is cancelled and if first round qualifying is not completed in all competition categories. Only appearance points will be awarded to any regsitered competitor for a cancelled event/s. When a ‘Rain Date’ is used it will be considered as a new event. b) In the event of first round qualifying being completed and rain / weather ends the event, all competitors will be awarded points up to the last completed round of competition in each individual category. Other: a) In the event of a cancellation due to other unforeseen circumstances (i.e. accidents, fatalities, natural disaster, theft, damages to track / equipment / facilities) that leads to the event not able to take place and / or be completed the same ruling as above (i.e. weather) will apply. 5 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2015… 25. PROTEST & APPEALS As per SupaDrift Series Rules and regulations as well as MSA GCR’s 26. OFFICIAL NOTICE BOARD The Official Notice Board is located at the SUPADRIFT SERIES VOC TRUCK located in the pits. Competitors are reminded to periodically check the Notice Board for any notices / bulletins etc, which may affect them. 6
