To enhance the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority, so that they will be well-adjusted, healthy and trustworthy citizens. Cheerleading is a very public form of education. I also understand that I am a very important part of that educational process, too, therefore; I understand that I am a role model for both my child and the rest of the team. I will support the value of these activities by offering encouragement and support to athletes, officials, and coaches. I will be an active spectator and support our activities by modeling good sportsmanship at all times. I will respect the officials and their authority during the game/competitions. I will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at practices, games, performances or competition. Instead I will set up a time and place to discuss concerns. I will understand that commitment to a team means my athlete being at practices & games. I understand that if my student does not come to practice, she/he will not participate in games/competitions/performances. I understand that students missing practice for outside activities without notifying the coach and getting prior approval could risk being removed from the team. If there is a problem with getting to practice or games I will contact the coach ahead of time so they can plan accordingly. I will teach my athlete time management in order for her/him to meet the commitments of both academics and the cheer program. I will teach my cheerleader to play by the rules and to resolve conflict without resorting to hostility or violence. I will insist that my cheerleader treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect. I will teach my athlete that doing one’s best is more important than winning, so that he/she will never feel defeated by the outcome of the game/performance. I will adhere to financial obligations on time. I understand and will follow the lines of communication. I will accept the goals, roles and achievements of my cheerleader. I have read, understand, and will abide by these expectations: Parent Signature_________________________________________Date_____________ 7 Chiles High School Sideline Cheerleading Estimated Family Expenses 2015-2016 Camp/Workweek (includes transportation to and from camp) $470.00 Other expenses (banquet, bows, District travel, Coaches gifts, etc.) $150.00 Shoes $80.00 Total paid to CHS Spirit Club $700.00 Payment Schedule: June 4th $470 July 1st $230 Apparel (Warm ups, poms, camp wear, backpack, travel duffel, etc.), is ordered through two sports vendors and paid online.
