Position Title: Mechanical Systems Design Engineer 1 Work Status: FT Date Revised: 3/25/2015 FLSA Job Status: Exempt Reports to: Vice President of Engineering Location: Rochester, NY Our mission is to bring disruptive technologies to municipal and industrial wastewater processes to reduce energy consumption, reduce capital and maintenance costs and create a significant renewable energy source. Position Summary: The Mechanical Systems Design Engineer 1 is an integral team member of the engineering team, providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Responsibilities include: creating new and innovative product design and system concepts for a variety of ClearCove offerings in municipal waste treatment markets and industrial organic waste markets. MSDE 1 is required to provide highly tangible outputs directly related to developing and implementing solutions that solve client problems and address their expectations associated with ClearCove’s value proposition and focus on innovation. This role requires a great deal of collaboration in a team setting, including an office as well as a rugged environment. Flexibility to work occasional varied hours along with the ability to travel is needed. The MSDE 1 must have an optimistic attitude with a continuous learning philosophy, in a high-paced changing environment. Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities: Work on various system, sub-system and component designs related to water treatment infrastructures. Qualified candidates please submit resume to [email protected] Experience performing computational fluid dynamics. Modelling and simulation of fluid flow, understanding of laminar and turbulent flow application in Autodesk inventor. Experience with computational finite element analyses and calculating Von Mises stress. Meshing and running iterations to propose a selected design. Ability to comprehend current and traditional treatment plants, operations, and processes; understand their attributes and shortfalls, and bridge to innovationintensive designs and concepts promoted by ClearCove Sound capabilities for drafting and deciding tolerances and measurements MSDE 1 must take direction on detailed requirements and also be comfortable and capable of performing at higher levels of self-reliance within stated design goals Effectively collaborate and communicate with others in multiple disciplines such as field operations, marketing, etc. Effectively check own work for quality and adherence to state product goals Create comprehensive engineering documentation, drawings, specs, critical design parameter and theory of operation Perform variety of technical analyses related to described duties and deliverables Keep current with industry/markets, pertinent intellectual property and direction of competitors.
