2015-2016 LEADERSHIP STAFFING APPOINTMENT
The Board of Education for Coast Mountains School District 82 is pleased to announce the
appointment of Ms. Cindy Sousa to the position of Principal at Majagaleehl Gali Aks
Elementary School in Hazelton.
Currently the Principal at North Coast Distance Education School, where she will be greatly
missed, Ms. Sousa will assume her new position effective August 1, 2015.
Ms. Sousa holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education Degree with a focus in
Counselling from the University of Northern British Columbia. She has served in leadership
roles with the school district since 2006 and is highly regarded by her colleagues as a
respected educator. Ms. Sousa is a strong and passionate advocate for the success of all
learners. Her energy, enthusiasm and strong commitment to students will have a positive
impact on Majagaleehl Gali Aks Elementary School.
Majagaleehl Gali Aks Elementary School forms an integral part of the community of Hazelton
and Coast Mountains School District is most fortunate to have an educator of Ms. Sousa’s
calibre ready and willing to assume the leadership role at this school.
The Board of Education welcomes Ms. Sousa to her new role and wishes her success as she
pursues this exciting new career change.
