May is a month of remembrance
2 - May 2015 Colonie Lodge of Elks News
May is a month of remembrance
Thank you for the wonderful show of support at the "Meet
and Greet" event.
The officers felt very warmly welcomed by the turnout.
We would like to express
our thanks to State Vice President Helen Blais and her husband John Blais, to our visiting
Elk members of our district, our
Ladies Auxiliary and their President Linda Williams, and especially to all of you, the members
of Colonie Lodge, for attending
and welcoming all the officers
into the new Elk year.
May is a month that is dear
to our hearts as Elks for it is a
month of remembrance for all
Exalted
Ruler’s
Message
who have served our country.
While in Washington over
Easter break with our Boy Scouts,
I was overwhelmed with the outpouring of support that all the vets
had received at the memorials and
at the air and space museums.
Veterans were flown to Washington DC on honor flights from
all over the country for one day
to see the World War II and the
Korean Memorial.
Our local Elk riders have
the privilege of escorting our
Veterans to the Albany airport
for these very special trips
where these brave men and
women can see how much we
honor their services.
The Officers give special
thanks to all of our members
and their families who have
served or are currently serving
our country.
Please join us at the lodge
on Memorial Day for a ceremony in which we honor our
veterans.
Yours in Elkdom

Donation to ENF
helps in many ways
The Elks National Foundation
(ENF) helps us all.
It provides many opportunities to place money where we
know it is needed. For example,
food pantries, drug awareness,
scholarship grants, Hoop Shoot,
just to name a few.
Remember, the only way for
our lodge to standout and reach its
goal is by membership participation.
Applications are available in
the lobby of the lodge.
