Golfer Benefits Junior golfers play competitive golf under USGA rules. This requires golfers to apply rules, to demostrate proper golf etiquette, and to develop course management strategies. Those junior golfers seeking to secure positions on their school golf team, can practice for their school tryouts. Ages 11-18 2015 Junior Golf Tournament Series The Columbus Municipal Golf Courses, part of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, are conducting the Columbus Municipal Junior Golf Tournament Series. The series consists of 10 events and a Tour Championship each played at one of the city’s golf courses. Each event will be conducted following USGA and Ohio High School Athletic rules. The scheduled events occur twice a week beginning June 8 through July 21. Participation is open to male and female golfers between the ages of 11 and 18 as of June 8, 2015. The entry fee per event is $25 for golfers ages 1112 (9 holes only) and $35 for golfers 13-18. Golfers may choose to play in some or all of the series events (see application). Junior Tour Championship This two-day event will be played at Champions Golf Course and Raymond Memorial Golf Course on July 20 – 21 and will be worth double the point values of the individual events. For example, winners of each age group will be awarded 200 points instead of the normal 100. We will also determine the overall champions of the series and the scholarship winners after play on July 21. Cost to play is $50 for ages 11 & 12 and $75 for ages 13-18.
