Robinson 12:00 p.m. Introductions and Presentation Begin Vice President Government Affairs Verizon “U.S. Communications & Innovation: Economic Impact” Michelle Robinson is the vice president of Verizon’s south area which is comprised of eleven southern states. She is responsible for shaping and advancing public policy strategies for the company’s wireline, wireless, and enterprise business segments. Robinson is also charged with the important role of leading Verizon's philanthropic activities in the region and carrying out Verizon’s commitment to use technology to help solve our society’s most pressing challenges. Robinson has an extensive background in policy development, government affairs and corporate communications. Robinson began her Verizon career fifteen years ago and held a variety of management positions in the area of public policy and government relations including vice president of regulatory affairs in Florida and California. Prior to beginning her career with Verizon, Robinson held positions with USWest (now CenturyLink) and AT&T, and also held positions in the area of regulatory compliance. Robinson is an active member of the community and has served a number of non-profit organizations in Florida and Georgia. Robinson was also honored to serve on Florida Governor Rick Scott’s transition team offering policy recommendations to the newly elected governor. Robinson graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and received a B.A. in political science. She went on to earn a master’s degree in public policy analysis from the University of Southern California (USC).
