AP TESTING: Please be aware that tomorrow,
Friday, May 15th is the last day of AP Testing for
Co-Op students enrolled in AP classes this year.
There are NO retakes or make-up times.

A list of the students who qualify for the CAS NYC Trip on Saturday, May 30
is on the CAS Board. If you qualify, you may pick up permission slips during
all lunch waves this week in the CAS Office or at snack during CAS.
The C3 Talent Show is this Friday, May 15th from 2:30 - 4:00pm in the
Main Stage Theater! Come out and support your fellow students!
Anyone who auditioned for the talent show last week must be at Tech
Rehearsal on Thursday, May 14th. Please email Rachel your music if you
haven't already, so we can have it for the tech rehearsal on Thursday.

us by THURSDAY BEFORE 2:15 you will not be able to perform on FRIDAY.
Remember you may not perform anything during the show that you did not
do at the tech rehearsal. Tech rehearsal will be run just like the show so
please show up promptly at 2:30. if you have a lot of equipment you may
bring it to the Main Stage at the end of last period and leave it with
RACHEL.
Ice Cream Social: The NHS is hosting an Ice Cream Social at 4pm in the
Cafeteria immediately following the Talent Show on Friday, May 15th.
Come buy ice cream and celebrate the end of the semester.
“Matilda” Student Rush Tickets: You can purchase student rush tickets
(based on availability) for all performances of Matilda The Musical at The

Shubert Theater Box Office. Please be aware that the tickets available for
student rush are non-prime (no club or inner circle) and are ONLY available
2 hours prior to curtain. Student must present a valid student id. The
eekends are pretty much sold out at this point. Your best bet for tickets
will be the Tuesday 5/19, Wednesday 5/20, and Thursday 5/21 night
shows. The show runs 2 hours 41 minutes (with intermission).
PROM TICKETS: Seniors, tickets for your 2015 Senior Prom “Arabian Nights” are on sale! Price $50 single, $90 couple.
Dues must be paid in full in order to purchase a ticket. Outside guests must have background check form completed and
returned by week in advance. You may purchase tickets from Ms. Corbin on the following days and times from
Wednesday until the Prom: Mondays: 3rd & 4th Lunch waves in the Cafeteria, Wednesdays: 2:30-3:30pm in Rm. 418, and
Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-7:30am in the Lobby during morning entry. Please do not try to purchase tickets
outside of this timeframe.
PROM COURT: Registration fee to run for King & Queen is $7. Deadline for registration is May 15. Submission of one
poster to Ms. Corbin by May 15. Campaign posters will be posted in the Cafeteria; posters that appear anywhere else in
the building will be taken down. Voting will take place on Prom night, June 4th.
PROM MUSIC INPUT What do you want to dance to at prom? Are there great songs we never get to hear? Retro, pop,
old-school, or Motown - we want the best. Submit any and all song recommendations using this link:

SUMMER SCHOOL Any students who are planning to attend summer school can pick up an application in the Guidance
Office. Please note that the summer credit recovery program applications will NOT be accepted via postal mail. All
registrations must take place in person; dates to be confirmed at a later time. It is IMPERATIVE to note that students
who have already mailed their applications will receive their applications back, with the expectation that they come
register on the registration dates identified. In addition, seniors will be given priority to ensure that they have full access
to the courses that they need to graduate. For any questions or information, please refer to guidance.
College before College applications for next fall are now available through the Co-Op ISSP Department in Guidance.
11th and 12th grade students interested in taking tuition-free college courses after school hours next fall are encouraged
to meet with Ms. R. in the Guidance Office to discuss options, since each college maintains its own test score & GPA
requirements and follows a distinct application process. In general, students should be maintaining a B average over all
in their high school courses and have scored at least a 40 on the PSAT or 400 on the SAT Critical Reading section. They
also need to demonstrate independent learning habits. Ms. R. is available at Metro on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays
and at Coop on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Students and families interested in more detailed information can email her

JUNIOR FOLDERS Guidance still has LOTS of Junior folders from the Junior Parent Night waiting to be picked up! If you
were unable to attend the Junior Parent Night, please be sure to come gather your Junior documents from Ms. Roxy in
guidance. These documents are resourceful with regards to courses needed to graduate, as well as post secondary
planning.
Spring Fling Dance: The Spring Fling Dance will take place Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6-10 pm. This dance is open
to grades 9-11 (Seniors have Prom on June 4th). This year’s theme is Wild, Wild West. The dance is sponsored by the
Junior class, so all juniors must be up to date on their dues to attend. Administrators reserve the right to deny
admittance to students with disciplinary or referral histories. Outside guests must have the “Guest Form” filled out and
returned to attend. Guest forms are available in the main office or from Ms. Wetmore. Cost - $10. Music by DJ Marv.
UPCOMING PERFORMANCES:
CHOIR Springfest Concert, Tuesday, May 19th, 6:30pm in the Co-Op Main Stage. Tickets $2 students, $5 adults in
advance/$7 at the door. Buy early through the Arts Office as tickets sell quickly.
JAZZ BAND Springfest Concert, Thursday, May 21st, 6pm in the Co-Op Main Stage. 9th & 10th Grade Band plays first,
followed by Junior/Senior Band. Tickets $2 students, $5 adults in advance/$7 at the door.
CURRENT EXHIBITS:
Our student-artists’ artwork is currently on view outside the building at the following locations:
Creative Minds - The Art of New Haven Youth show is at Arte Inc., 19 Grande Avenue. The show runs through May 31st.
Side by Side sponsored by The Arts Council of Greater New Haven, features work from Co-op teachers Mr. Cozzi and Ms.
Englart and their students. The show will runs until June 6th at Whitney Center in Hamden.

Final Exams:
• High School Final Exam Period: June 11, 12, 15, 16. June 17th will be open for make-ups, last minute
correcting, and locker clean-out (half days).
Final Days of School:
 June 18 & 19 – Full days of school for everyone (see below for senior specific schedule. A more detailed schedule
for underclassmen for those days will be included after April Break.)
 Last Day of School for Teachers and Students: June 22 (Half-Day)
Graduation & Senior Events:
• Thursday, June 18th - Senior Trip
• Friday, June 19th - Senior Breakfast, Cap Gown & Graduation Ticket Distribution, final book returns
• Monday, June 22nd - Seniors report to Graduation Rehearsal @ noon (no classes for seniors), lineup at 5pm
in Co-Op Cafeteria, procession begins at 5:45 and Graduation starts at 6 @ Shubert, Reception in Co-Op Cafe
CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Attention Juniors! You must have dues paid in full through Junior year to attend the Spring Fling on May 27. You need
to have paid $75 before the dance. See Ms. Wetmore or Mrs. Sargent if you have any questions.
SENIORS Prom season is upon us. Gentlemen, rent a tux from any CT Men’s Warehouse location, give the Cooperative
Arts & Humanities High School name when you complete the order and Men’s Wearhouse will donate $5 for each tux
rented to the Co-Op Senior Class. Also, if you want to take on the Prom Rep Challenge they will rent you your tux for
FREE. See senior Alex Devarez for details.
Seniors: Graduation is just twelve weeks away and not all seniors have fulfilled their obligations. Hurry and pay off your
class dues ($100 total) and participate in all events planned. Seniors will not be permitted to purchase prom tickets or
receive a yearbook until their dues are paid in full. Your class dues cover your cap and gown, diploma cover, yearbook
and senior breakfast. See Ms. Corbin in room S418 during homeroom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays or in the
science office on Tues. and Thurs. during homeroom to pay the balance of your class dues.
Juniors: Class dues are $25/year. = $100 total. You must have paid $75 by the end of this year. You can pay $5/month if
you need to! You can pay Mrs. Sargent in the Theatre Resource Room first floor. She is available before/during
homeroom or immediately after school. We would like to build a committee to begin planning the Spring Fling. If you
are interested in helping out please sign up on the sheet outside the Black Box.
SOHPOMORES - Dues are $25/year. Please makes check payable to “Co-Op High School” and turn in to Ms. Malavasi.
PARENTS/CO-OP FAMILY
Parents, it's time to say thank you to our amazing staff and faculty for giving of themselves to give our children another
year of learning. The Staff Appreciation Lunch will be Friday, June 12, at noon (half-day of school). Donations of
desserts, side dishes, drinks, decorations, funding, and time are needed. Will you help? Please email parent

Seniors/Senior Families: As you collect responses to college applications, please enter your admissions results into
Naviance. And be sure to tell your school counselors, who are eager to hear your news!
Junior Parents: The Class of 2016 Spring Fling is coming! The date is set for May 27. Any parent that can chaperon or
help with refreshments please email Ms. Wetmore or Mrs. Sargent. Put it on your calendar!!
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
Southern Connecticut State University, is inviting the rising 10th graders to their third GEAR UP Summer Academy.
The academy will run July 6, - July 24, 2015. The Academy is held on the Southern Connecticut State University
campus. They are pleased to accept the first 150 GEAR UP students who apply. The academy is free and there will be
no cost at all for your child’s attendance and participation in the Summer Academy. Bus transportation is free for New
Haven residents. Bus transportation to all field trips is free to all participants. Breakfast and lunch is free for all
participants. Any interested rising 10th grader please come to the Guidance office and see Roxy for an application.
UConn Mentor Connection is an on campus, inquiry-based enrichment experience for academically talented teens
entering the last two years of high school. Please see the following website for more
information: http://mentor.education.uconn.edu/ There are still spots available! Please apply by May 20.
The Performing Arts Academy of CT (PAACT) in Woodbridge is a consortium of artists inspiring kids and adults alike in
various fields from music to art, theater, and more. PAACT is now accepting high school customer service and outreach
interns for the spring and summer. All students interested must possess a tablet, notebook or laptop. For more

GUIDANCE NOTICES:
Seniors: The New Haven Federation of Teachers Scholarship application is due on or before May 26. Applications are
available in and must be returned to Guidance. All New Haven high school seniors planning to attend and accepted to a
post- secondary educational institution (university, college, technical school) are encouraged to apply for one of the
three $500 scholarships.
Seniors: New scholarships are being added almost every day to Co-op's listings. Now is the time to be applying for
scholarships, which you must do separately from applying for financial aid from colleges. Check the Guidance Hub room
as well as the scholarship pages in the Guidance section of www.co-opartsandhumanities.org to find out more about
what's available.
All students must enter their Community Service Hours in X2Vol through their Naviance account and then submit their
signed documentation from their community service provider to Ms. Roxy for approval of hours.
If you submitted documentation of hours before 2/27/2015, please check in w/ Ms. Freer or Ms. Roxy to see if those
hours were already submitted before you put anything in X2vol.
Any hours after 2/27/2015 must be entered by student in X2vol before they can be approved. If you have questions,
please see Ms. Freer or Ms. Roxy.
Juniors – Interested in attending a public college or university, but don’t want to stay in Connecticut? The New England
Regional Student Program offers Connecticut students studying specific majors at certain public schools in Rhode Island,
Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine to pay a discounted tuition – typical savings are currently
