In 2015, our tackle football program will be limited to players entering the 6th grade in the Fall of 2015 (We will also offer a flag football alternative to players entering the 3rd through 6th grade in 2015). The football coaching staff at Creighton Prep will actively participate in the development of our program, and help develop practice routines, terminology and playbooks to mimic the players' future high school experience at Creighton Prep. Practices and home games will occur at Creighton Prep. We will compete against other 6th grade high school affiliated football teams in the Metro Youth Football League. To ensure a positive experience, in 2015 we will field a maximum of two teams, and limit player registration accordingly. Until the roster is full, players will be accepted in the order of their registration, beginning on March 28, 2015. If we field two teams, the rosters will be decided by non-parent coaches based upon the best interest of the players and the program, with an emphasis on development, substantially equal talent and playing time, and a positive overall experience. The teams will be managed by non-parent coaches with extensive coaching experience at this age level. All position assignment will be made exclusively by non-parent coaches. All coaches will be screened with a background check, participate in the Archdiocese sponsored safe environment training, earn certification through USA football, and prepare for the season with ongoing coaching clinics organized by the Creighton Prep High School coaching staff, led by Varsity Football Coach Andy Yost. Please join us and meet the Little Jays and Creighton Prep coaching staffs on Saturday March 28, 2015. The meet and greet will take place from noon to 1:00 PM in the Creighton Prep "Commons" (located just inside the main entrance on the west side of Prep). Player registration will begin after the March 28, 2015 event, and must be accomplished online at little-jays-football.sportssignup.com. For additional information, contact: Little Jays President Mark McQueen at 636-8308, or [email protected] Creighton Prep Varsity Football Head Coach Andy Yost – [email protected]
