infectious song and dance of Maurice Hines! Catch this performance before Maurice takes his show on the

PLAYING THE ASSASSIN
Written by David Robson (a Wilmington based playwright)
Directed by Joe Brancato
October 21-November 8, 2015
This gripping new play is a compelling drama inspired by the devastating true story of an NFL star’s career
ending injury at the hands of a player known as “The Assassin”. PLAYING THE ASSASSIN examines the
violence that football demands on the field, and the hero worship that plays into their legacy. It is hard to
escape the conclusion that some responsibility must be borne by those of us who make professional football
the country’s most popular sport – who cheer as grown men try to hurt one another.
“PLAYING THE ASSASSIN hits hard.” – The Hartford Courant
DINER
Book by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson
Music and Lyrics by nine-time Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow
Directed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall
December 2-27, 2015
Christmas, Baltimore: 1959. A circle of childhood friends reunite for the upcoming wedding of one of them.
Well, only if his fiancée passes a football trivia test. From the comfort of their all-night diner, the men, now in
their early-twenties, confront the realities of adulthood: marriage, careers, money and the ever-mysterious
opposite sex. But no matter where life takes them, they know they’re welcome back at the diner, the one place
they’ll always belong. Infused with swinging 1950s rock and roll sound, three-time Tony Award®-winning
director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall joins Crow and Levinson to transform DINER’s groundbreaking
evocation of burgeoning adulthood and friendship for the stage.
“Fresh…Energetic…Honest [and] entertaining.” – The New York Times
NUREYEV'S EYES
Written by David Rush
March 2-20, 2016
An inside story about two iconic artists – an American painter and a Russian ballet dancer – and how they
created a now famous set of paintings. During the 70's the American painter Jamie Wyeth (son of Andrew)
did a series of studies and paintings of Rudolf Nureyev, the legendary ballet dancer who defected from Russia
and revitalized western ballet. Written with the express permission and support of Jamie Wyeth, this brand
new play by David Rush imagines what their electric encounters may have been like, what secrets were
revealed about the world of painting and international dance, and how their relationship evolved…changing
each of them.
“NUREYEV’S EYES illuminates the artist life” – The Tampa Bay Times
THE EXPLORER’S CLUB
Written by Nell Benjamin (playwright of BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE)
Directed by Bud Martin
April 27-May 15, 2016
THE STORY: London, 1879. The prestigious Explorers Club is in crisis: their acting president wants to admit
a woman, and their bartender is terrible. True, this female candidate is brilliant, beautiful, and has discovered
a legendary Lost City, but the decision to let in a woman could shake the very foundation of the British Empire,
and how do you make such a decision without a decent drink? Grab your safety goggles for some very mad
science involving deadly cobras, irate Irishmen and the occasional airship.
