and 48th Desert Conference for the Daughters Auxiliary to the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. P.H.A.,
State of California. The Desert Conference · Gala Day will be held at the DoubleTree by the
Hilton Hotel San Diego Downtown and will convene at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May
21st—Sunday, May 24, 2015 in San Diego, California. Attached you will find the Desert
Conference Registration forms. A copy of the registration can also be downloaded from the
Desert of California website at: www.desertofca.org. As your host, Prince Hall Shrine Temple No. 102 and Prince Hall Shrine Court No. 104 we are very excited about your visit to
the Oasis of San Diego. We are confident that your stay here will be enjoyable, informative

The 2015 California Desert Conference/Gala Day Annual Convocation will be held on
May 21st – May 24th in the Oasis of San Diego, hosted by Prince Hall Shrine Temple #102 &

Cut-off Date: The “cut-off date” for reserving rooms in the Room Block is 5:00 p.m. local time at
Hotel on Friday, April 29th, 2015. After the cut-off date, it is at Hotel’s discretion whether to
accept additional reservations, which will be subject to prevailing rates and availability. Failure to
reserve rooms in the Room Block prior to the cut-off date does not reduce Group’s total guest room
night commitment and does not impact the “Attrition” or “Cancellation” provisions below. Rates
do not include applicable state and local taxes, currently 12.56% per room, per night.

When calling for reservations, attendees must mention the group name to be eligible for the

Please Note: The Hotel maintains a seventy-two (72) hours cancellation policy for individual
guest room reservations.
Complimentary Airport Shuttle: The Double Tree by Hilton offers a Complimentary shuttle
ride from San Diego International Airport. In order to get picked up at the airport, the day of
arrival, each guest should call the hotel directly at (619) 239-6800 from the airport after luggage
pick up. The airport shuttle arrives at the front entrance and departs every thirty (30) minutes.
Parking:
Self-Covered Parking is offered in the hotel at a special discounted rate of $13.00 (regularly $25)
per car overnight. Parking fee is subject to change without notice.


Lessee agree that all display booth shall be self-supporting and not be attached to the Walls,
Floors or Fixtures of the Hotel nor use tacks or nails or any other sharp objects of the same.

Lessee agrees to secure any license or permits required by this city, and pay all fees and taxes
required by any municipal, state or federal regulation.

against any action, cost, damages, claims and expenses (including attorney fees) arising from any

occupancy of the Hotel.

Lessee is hereby informed and agree that SECURITY WILL NOT be furnished by the Double Tree By
Hilton Hotel Downtown San Diego nor by The Desert of California. Therefore, each vendor is
responsible for safe guarding their merchandise during the entire duration of the conference.

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
Greetings: Illustrious Potentates, Illustrious Commandresses, Chief and Assistant Rabbans, First
Lieutenants Commandresses, Second Lieutenants Commandresses, Imperial Officers, Divans,
and Members of the Desert of California.
The Nobles Riding Competition and Daughters Synchronized Line—Dancing Competition must follow the Desert of California requirements. There will be a prize for the best Nobles and Daughters
Team. Please complete the Competition form and send via email to: [email protected]. If
you have any questions, please contact the Chairperson or Co-Chairperson.
DAUGHTERS SYNCHRONIZED LINE—DANCING COMPETITION
RULES
 A team must consist of not less than three (3) and not more than ten (10) Daughters.
 Each team will have no less than 3 minutes and no more than 5 minutes to perform.
 All members of the team must be from the same Court.
 A Court may sponsor multiple teams.
 Uniforms must be identical in style, color, and design.
 No Regalia required.
JUDGING
 All teams will be judged on their uniforms, competition and/or restrictions as follows:

Cleanliness of uniforms
Neatness of uniforms
Originality of style and design
COMPETITION
 Originality of routine
 Uniformity of performance
 Synchronization of team members
RESTRICTIONS

 Vulgar or obscene gestures and/or language are not permitted.
 Routine must not include or require members to crawl or lie on the floor.
 Routine must be performed in the designated space.
