Expanded Self-Service Analysis Logi’s Analysis Grid has an updated user interface that incorporates new chart types, new chart authoring, new table configuration, and more control to let any business person analyze data and build visualizations quickly and easily. The new context-friendly interface and dropdown menus make analytical actions only 1-click away. Logi Info’s Self Service Reporting Module (SSRM) automatically inherits these new capabilities. Enhanced Chart Authoring Improved chart authoring within the Analysis Grid simplifies data understanding Charts update as you build them, giving you immediate feedback and making creation time much quicker Data selections are retained as you switch from one chart type to the next, so you can work without re-entering choices made previously New Cross-tab charts and Arc gauges for better data understanding Chart authoring in the Analysis Grid matches the Logi Studio chart wizard approach, bringing parity to the developer and business user authoring experiences New Chart Configuration Options New chart configuration options provide granular control for precise design of every chart: Cross-tab charts – Clustered or stacked bars and line/area charts that allow visual comparison of data for a selected category Show data values – Ability to turn them on for pie and bar charts, and choose between value or percentage for pie charts Switch between bar and column – Ability to choose between a horizontal bar or column chart Gauges – New gauge options, letting business users choose between arc, balloon and bullet gauges Relevance control – Granular control of relevance, letting users choose between rank, percentage, or not applying relevance filters www.logianalytics.com Enhanced Table Configuration Improved interface within the Analysis Grid makes working with tables simpler and faster: Inline menu for column actions, like sorting, grouping, filtering and aggregates are 1-click away Better grouping of actions in the toolbar Control location of totals (top or bottom) Control colors of data series for crosstab comparison Expanded data alignment options Expanded data formatting options for currency, date, time Expanded data display options like bar gauges and cell colors 2. New and Enhanced Data Visualizations and Interactivity Logi Info’s ever expanding and modernized data visualization library brings clarity and insights to data for faster data investigation and comprehension. New and Updated Data Visualizations: Expanded and modernized chart types represent bring clarity to data: Arc Gauge: Simple to understand data visual depicting actual and target values with accompanying color codes. This gauge displays numbers in a modern web manner for an easy-to-read style in operational dashboards. Javascript Gauges: The major gauge styles in Logi Info – the bullet gauge and the balloon gauge – are now available as Javascript gauges. These gauges use a small spatial footprint but maximize information clarity, and the Javascript incarnation emphasizes smooth animation and resizing with a modern feel. Javascript maps: Logi Info’s animated maps now use Javascript instead of Flash, allowing them to be used in mobile devices. www.logianalytics.com Simpler Interactivity Drills and smart hints make investigating and selecting data quick and easy: Group drill-through support in Canvas Charts Canvas charts have been enhanced to support the group drill-through element to allow a click-through view of data in an automatically generated tabular report. The Drill-through column element can be used to further customize the appearance of the drilled report. Input elements improvements A placeholder attribute in Input elements permits report designers to provide a caption that gives end users a hint or expected text inside the input box, making the input interface easier for them to use. The Input Text field also supports getting data from a datalayer and using it as an auto complete feature, where options are provided to end users as they type text. This gives end users a modern search interface to find the specific data entries they are looking for. Real-time charts Logi Info’s Canvas Charts can handle data that is real or nearreal time. This makes these charts ideal for use in operational dashboards and displays, where the data is continuously updating: The ability for charts to refresh without redrawing, giving a smooth, real-time feel to charts in operational dashboards. A RefreshSeriesTimer element that pulls data and updates the chart based on a specified refresh interval. Configurable chart time spans, so that time-based charts display data for a defined time period. A Javascript API that allows developers to refresh charts by pushing updated data to the charts as needed. The API includes methods to update the chart with data from Logi Info Server or directly from the data source. www.logianalytics.com 3. Performance Improvements Logi Info introduces a new engine that parallelizes the execution of both data queries and dashboard panel loading. This multi-threaded approach has shown in testing to improve performance by 2x -4x or more. Since the engine operates in parallel, there is little performance lost when adding more data (queries) panels to a dashboard. Parallel Datalayer Execution All datalayers requests execute in parallel allowing multiple simultaneous queries to the data source which returns data much more quickly. Significant performance improvements are also seen in pages with input elements, data tables and data lists. Multi-Threaded Dashboard Panel Rendering and Loading Dashboard panels render and load faster as dedicated threads (reserved computing power) can execute in parallel. Working in conjunction with the parallelized data queries, all data requests and visualizations can operate independently of each other for optimal performance 4. Secure, Group Sharing and Self-Service Reporting Module Enhancements The Logi Info Self-Service Reporting Module has been enhanced to allow business users to share any content they create with both groups of users as well as individual users. The module also has been updated to support both IBM DB2 and Amazon Redshift as data sources available for analysis. Secure, Sharing with Groups Individuals can share report or folders of reports with users and/or groups securely, even in multi-tenant environments: Users can share their reports or folders of reports with other users, as well as groups of users. The interface for sharing shows both available users and groups, and users can search on both. Once shared with a group, reports automatically show up in the folders of the different users in the group in read-only mode. Any changes to shared reports made by their respective owners will reflect automatically to all users in the group. Administrators have flexibility in defining groups, as well as which users belong to which groups. www.logianalytics.com Support for DB2 and Redshift Business users of Info’s Self Service Reporting Module can now author new visualizations and reports from IBM DB2 and Amazon Redshift sources. This expands the list of SSRM supported sources that also includes Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Vertica. 5.
