Cal-MO keeps making improvements. We painted our two new hangars last fall and we’re wiring them. Hangars are available at $100 a month. We want more members!! Phillips Field, MO23, is about 2 mi. northeast of California, MO. To drive there take Hwy 50 toward California, turn N on Business 50, go 1 mi. to Old 50, and continue N on Industrial Dr. past the factory area for about a mile. You will pass a cemetery, cell tower and white barn. Turn right on Airport Road and go downhill for 0.8 mi. to the gate at Phillips Field, which has a prominent white sign with our name and a Cessna on it. It may be located wrong on older databases, about ½ mi. SW of the true location. We will be monitoring 122.9 MHz (multicom) frequency instead of the old 122.8 (unicom). The 2500-ft. turf runway is 50-130 ft. wide and usually free of crosswinds because the field is in a sheltered valley. Field elevation has been corrected to 760 ft. This is a private airfield. The runway may have some minor low spots, so land at your own risk. The official FAA coordinates are 38°38.455' N, 92°31.746' W at the center of runway 18/36. In case of rain we will hold the event on Sat., June 13. Fun activities for kids at Phillips Field! Lots of interesting planes will be here. You’ll hear some pretty good pilot stories too. The annual Cal-Mo Flying Club Fly-In & Pig Roast usually hosts a dozen airplanes & 100 folks!
