Topics include the evolution of infarct angioplasty, ethical challenges with termination of care – in the field or hospital, operationalizing thrombolytic therapy guidelines, preserving left ventricular function, the impact of therapeutic hypothermia on clinical practice, and improving the quality of in-hospital cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. Additionally, participants will explore the patient and family’s experience following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest through a survivor’s success story. TARGET AUDIENCE Physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses – emergency and critical care, and emergency medical services. Other interested health care professional seeking to improve outcomes for STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are welcome to attend.
