GIRL’s BIZ
A new initiative for Ward 7 female business owners to transform challenges into
opportunities and strengthen internal capacities.
Here is YOUR opportunity to participate in this new initiative and
win a grant of $5,000!
CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION:
1. Business/organization must be legally registered for at least 6 months and serve
Ward 7 residents
2. Must be a woman-owned/operated business
3. Must provide Clean Hands Certification from DCRA
PROGRAM TIMELINE (Subject to Change):
 Girl’s Biz Launch: Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Ward 7 Women of
Excellence Awards Luncheon
 Applications Due: Friday, April 24, 2015
 Participants Selection: Thursday, April 30, 2015
 Orientation: Mid May 2015
 Classes Begin: June 2015 – August 2015
 Business Plan Competition: August 2015
 Winners Announced and Graduation: September 2015
