Etceteras People News: The Seidels and Wanda Hallam flew to Italy and the Lake District in mid April. Tony and I went a few days early and stayed in a B&B on Lake Como in Bellano (a very little village right along the lake). Then we met up with Wanda at Lake Maggiore and the rest of the Grand Circle Tour group…stayed in Stresa, Italy for 4 nights and did day trips from there. Next we traveled to Switzerland and visited various ski resorts including the Matterhorn area, Zermatt and Interlaken. Some of the ski resorts were still operating while others had closed in March. The last country to visit was Austria again for 4 nights and concentrating on the small villages of the alpine areas. One day at the end visiting castles, etc. in Bavaria, Germany before going on to Munich for our flight home. Weather was superb, with only about 2 days of rain out of the 12 total. We saw a lot of beautiful snow-laden mountains, small alpine villages, and enjoyed every minute. End of May we took 1 1/2 weeks and spent 7 nights at different southern OR coast campgrounds w/our travel trailer. Oregon sure has kudos for their campgrounds compared to CA. Visited the Nahmias on the way home in Grants Pass…they have a lovely home. Now it’s YOUR turn! Share your past or present travel plans for the next newsletter. We do not recommend Grace Moving out of Modesto! I am in physical therapy 4 hours a week and it is a challenge but SLOWLY my wrist and knee are getting better. They say give it a year at least. Meanwhile I'm not supposed to unpack, well that is impossible. Bill has carried the load long enough and I need to work. Our town of Prescott is really perfect for us since we are close to everything we need, yet still have the history and charm we love. We'll keep up with you through the newsletters and if you're headed this direction visitors are welcome! Their new address is: 154 Darby Creek Way, Phoenix AZ 86301, Phone: 928-499-4412 Email: [email protected] and [email protected] Get Acquainted Column—we did this in the past, but decided to start this over again. Louis and I will do the first one. Louis and Judy LaForce Louis and I are both born in the Los Angeles area. Louis and I met when we were 13 years old. We met through our parents – both of our fathers were square dance callers. We started square dancing as teenagers and were in an exhibition group called the “Swinging Sweethearts”. We actually didn’t start dating until we were 17 and 18. We married in September of 1963 when we were 20 and 21 (Almost 52 years ago). We lived in the San Fernando Valley until 1982 when we moved to Oxnard. We have 3 children: Matt, Renee and Nicole. Now we have 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Louis was a land surveyor for the City of Los Angeles. He was lucky enough to retire at the age of 53. I went to work after staying home 15 years with the kids. I went back to school and became a computer programmer and my last place of employment was Pepperdine University in Malibu. We moved to Sonora in October of 2000 following our daughter who moved to Twain Harte. Pepperdine let me telecommute from home in Cedar Ridge which I did for 7 years before I retired in 2008. We moved to Columbia in 2013. Louis enjoys golf and I golf some. I still do a lot of computer stuff—websites and other things. I also tap dance and clog. We enjoy travelling with our fifth wheel. For the last 5 years we have spent our winters in the desert in our fifth wheel. Our first trip with our fifth wheel was to Alaska in 2006 with Gary and Marcy Davidson and another couple. Since then we have done several trips with them and on our own. It is hard to believe that we have been in Tuolumne County for almost 15 years. Our life in Tuolumne County has been great and we have made many good friends here. Note: I will select someone else each month to be the stars of this column. I will send you a questionnaire to help you get the information to me. You can write your own article or you can just fill out info on the questionnaire and I will compose it for you or you can compose the article yourselves. I will let you check it out before I publish it.
