FCSN BOARD MEMBER ELECTION 2015 Candidates Introduction Rachael & Robin Chiang 姜 程,蔡 明 叡 Robin is a Patent Attorney with 14 years experience. Currently, he works for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has a special interest working for children. Rachael has worked in a Big 8 Public Accounting Firm and has been a piano teacher since college. She now homeschools both of her children, Roland, 11, and Rosalie, 9. The family has been active in FCSN East Bay since their son was diagnosed with autism 8 years ago. Jennifer Li & Jason Hwan 黃 志 堅,李 守 真 Jason Hwan and Jennifer Li become long time FCSN members since early '90, they were also one of FCSN founding family members. The Hwan's family has two young adult boys who are currently in special education, Vincent 22, and Alan 20; both are doing well and have been participating FCSN activities since their childhood. Jason is a full time engineer, while Jennifer recently decided to take a long break after working in networking industry for more than 20 years. We will be grateful back to FCSN board to serve our children and families, in addition to leverage the organization mission to the community. Charlene Liao 廖 曉 伶 Charlene Liao holds Ph.D. in Biology from Brandeis University and is currently leading multiple drug development projects at Genentech. Charlene has a 21-year-old daughter (Connie Luo) with special needs due to Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS), an autism spectrum disorder. Together they have been associated with FCSN for over 18 years. In the last two years Charlene has taken on more leadership responsibilities in FCSN such as serving at the SB Site Committee to acquire and develop the FCSN SB Center, and leading the FCSN Café/Store design and business planning. Charlene was nominated by FCSN to receive the Loving Mother award from a Bay Area Chinese organization in 2014 Jenny & Michael Lin 林 永 清, 胡 靜 瑩 Jenny and Michael are parents of Christopher. Their focus for the next two years is working on fundraising and build up the SB Center to serve the South Bay family and communities. They are FCSN member since 1996, E-group since 2005, and Jenny has been FCSN Secretary from 2006 to 2012, FCSN SBRG Coordinator since 2008, and FCSN SB program director since 2008. They are dedicated to serve special needs children by providing an environment that is safe, loving, and caring Alice Liu 劉 麗 敏 I have been joining FCSN for about 7 years. I didn't pay that much attention to FCSN until 2009 when my sister sent her son to live with me, in hope of using acupuncture to help with his behaviors, that was the time FCSN came to my mind again. My nephew has been benefited from many programs from FCSN. And most importantly he and I have made many friends from FCSN, a great support that we can't find it anywhere else! I have a lot of respect to people at FCSN and would like to be part of the FCSN family. I am willing to help whenever I can. I was the EBRG seminar coordinator for a while and I'm currently the EBRG education program coordinator. Tao Huang & John Qian 錢 軍,黃 濤 We have been part of FCSN since 2009. Our only child Zhou Huang is 22 years old now. Zhou is non-verbal, autistic, and severe mental retarded. Zhou is also a handsome, happy, and energetic young man. Tao works on Biotech Medical Research, and John is a software engineer. John has been taking charge of South Bay Regular Gathering for 3 years and is actively involved in FCSN activities. Amy & Jason Wang 王 國 基, 羅 春 紅 Amy & Jason Wang, one of 10 families co-founded the FCSN, served in the FCSN Board for years. In the earlier time, Amy served one term VP, and a few years as CFO, also, prepared dinner at the San Jose Gathering and Jason as a securityguard, golf coach for special needs children. Now, Amy serves in the Audit Committee, and cooks lunch at Fremont FCSN Center once per month. Jason is searching donation from Corporation or private. Amy & Jason have no children, and would like to serve more time on FCSN board. Sherry Meng & Xiaohu Wang 王 小 虎, 孟 希 原 Sherry & Xiaohu are parents of Eric (a child with special needs). They joined FCSN in 2000. They have actively participated in many of our programs. They have been board members since 2009. Sherry is dedicated in helping our children and families and is the current director for our FCSN South Bay local program. Sherry is also the creator of the WEP, LEP, Soap project and Quick Books programs which provides the working and life skills related training for special needs children. Yee-Yeen Wang 王 一 尹 Yee-Yeen is parent of Angie (young adult with special needs). Yee-Yeen and his late wife Li joined FCSN in 2000 and have been FCSN Board member for the last 10 years. Yee-Yeen has since served as various important function on FCSN board and also VP of FCSN for the last of 7 years. Our beloved Li passed away in 2012. Before that she was devoted to FCSN’s missions. She had served as FCSN youth volunteer coordinator, newsletter editor, and South Bay local program and events coordinator. She was also one of founders of SB Mom’s Club. Linda Huang & John Yang 楊 紀 明, 黃 迴 文 Linda and John are parents of Ya-Ya (young adult with special needs). They joined FCSN in 1997 and have been FCSN Board Member for the last 17 years. John has been actively serving as FCSN Special Event Coordinator for many years, especially in logistics support to make things happened successfully for FCSN Annual Fundraising Gala, Annual Meeting and Family Day as well as Regular Gathering Iron Chef during 1997-2013. Linda is also multi-talented. She has served as our teenage afterschool program coordinator from 2003-2007, and teacher for many different special programs for our children. Now they are both early retired from works but enjoyed taking care of grandson, Max.
