 Monday, April 6, 2:30PM - “Slavery, Dissent,
Reconciliation: Harvard Histories.” Join a public
discussion about the University's relationship to
the many legacies and memories of the Civil War,
with artist Brian Knep, Sven Beckert (Harvard
University), Kellie Carter Jackson (Hunter
College), and Salamishah Tillet (University of
Pennsylvania) . Moderated by Timothy Patrick
McCarthy (Harvard University). Presented by
OFA, Hutchins Center for African and African
American Research, and Carr Center for Human
Rights Policy. The discussion is part of the
Harvard Civil War Project, an extensive,
multidisciplinary series of events presented by
over 10 Harvard affiliated departments, convened
by the OFA, to commemorate this year’s 150th
anniversary of the war’s conclusion. Admission

 Wednesday, April 8, 7:15PM - Come as You
Are. Sex doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Sex
happens in a context. Come learn about sexual
response, desire, and arousal from sexuality
researcher, Emily Nagoski. First 25 attendees will

Congee and Soup-Making Study Break
Wednesday, April 8, 6:30-9:30PM
Grays Common Room
Take a break from studying, and come to the
congee and soup-making study break! Learn
how to prepare your very own bowls of
congee, a porridge dish commonly found in
Asian cuisine, and Chinese-style soups.
Bring friends, and make new memories over a warm, delicious,
and wholesome meal.

Performers Presents: A Conversation
and Demonstration with the Vijay
Iyer Trio. Pianist, composer, and
bandleader, Vijay Iyer—a MacArthur
Fellow, a Grammy nominee, and the Franklin D. and
Florence Rosenblatt Professor of the Arts at Harvard—will
conduct a conversation with his award-winning trio
(Marcus Gilmore, drums; Stephan Crump, bass) on
improvisation, collaboration, and the creative process.
Admission is free; no tickets required. Seating is first-come,
first-served, subject to venue capacity. Holden Chapel.

Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Training. The Harvard University Police Department and the Freshmen
Dean's Office bring you Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Training. This two-hour, optional course will teach
you the basics of defense. These sessions are limited to females and 30 participants. If a male student is interested

Drop in to a Dance Class. Registration for spring co-curricular classes may be over, but drop-in classes for
dance are available. The Dance Program is now offering a pay-as-you-go option for the following dance
classes at the Harvard Dance Center: Ballet III; Contemporary I; Contemporary II/III; Conditioning—Strength;
and Conditioning—Strength & Stretch. $7 per class. On the day of your drop-in, please sign in on the drop-in
