Retail Sales Assistant DEPARTMENT - Retail FSLA –Non-Exempt REPORTS TO – Retail Sales Officer STATUS - Full-Time SUPERVISES - None HOURS - Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Afterhours sales & training meetings; Saturday rotation at Henderson & Evansville Branches. SUMMARY: Focuses on enhancing our customers’ experience from the time they visit the branch to the time they leave. Responsible for the promotion of the bank’s products and services; assists in the training of the bank’s retail products and services, and assists in the development of the bank’s products and services. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: College degree or equivalent sales & marketing work experience preferred but not required. Minimum of three years’ experience in a sales environment. Demonstrated ability to sell and cross-sell products and services. Broad knowledge of financial industry & ability to apply & develop innovative industry advances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Acknowledges and initiates conversation to build relationships with every customer when entering and leaving the Main Office Lobby. Maintain a well-developed knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered, and work with the Retail Sales Officer to deliver and communicate products offered within the organization and customer base.. Assists with the development of a sales culture and sales focused environment within the organization. Develop and foster relationships with clientele, to build business and referrals to assist in the growth of the organization. Maintain a sales environment, and actively participate in regular sales and office staff meetings. Assist in the execution of sales contests, and monthly Blitzes and other motivational activities. Assist Retail Sales Officer and Chief Retail Officer with Retail Merchandising. In conjunction with other retail staff, seek opportunities to display and promote bundled and out-of-department products. Assists with the Mystery Shopping and Control Program which provides feedback to evaluate employee performance and sales skills to enhance bottom-line performance. Assists with coordination of customer outreach. Initiate and maintain customer contact through a variety of methods, including but not limited to customer interaction in the branches and attending various seminars and community events. Assist with limited teller functions as needed. May assist with various retail functions as directed by Supervisor. ADA REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an office setting; one must be able to concentrate & perform work in an area that will likely result in the interruptions of one's duties. May be required to stand for long periods of time and to lift items weighing up to 25-70 lbs. This job may not be all-inclusive.
