One of those windows has been through "block party month". Neighbourhood Life had hosted 15 last year. The stories from these gatherings have significantly helped re-imagine how we can seek out what God is doing in our neighbourhoods and joining Him (read more at www.rickabma.com) During these spring months, we hear radio promoting the "rock your block" competition among neighbourhoods in central Alberta. We also should take note that "block party month" has arrived (The month of May for Red Deer County and the month of June for Lacombe county). This is also the season for garage sales and other gatherings. These are the windows of opportunities in which we can make simple steps in loving our neighbours. Here the effectiveness is not measured by numbers. And success is not determined by size. Here it's about being present among neighbours with the qualities of Christ. One of the many roles Neighbourhood Life plays is to help neighbours connect. A good place to start is to simply celebrate block party month with some neighbours. Neighbourhood Life can help with its travelling trailer BBQ (free), creative ideas or by helping you host. Call/ text 403-505-9897 or email [email protected]. CACHS: The Drama 20/30 class will be presenting And A Child Shall Lead by Michael Slade on June 3rd and 4th. The play will be presented in the CACHS Gym with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the play beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available through the school office – 403-782-4535. And A Child Shall Lead “….is the heroic and true story of children coming of age in Terezin, the “Jewish city” established by the Nazis near Prague as a way station before the death camps. In the face of unspeakable horror, these children use their determination and creativity to build lives filled with hope and beauty – playing, studying, making art, and writing an underground newspaper – all at the peril of being executed. Their actual poems and stories are woven into a fast-paced drama, evoking the universality of children caught in the insanity of war.”
