In his analyst position, Fugere will play a significant role in the execution of the firm’s investment processes, including identifying and analyzing prospective and existing portfolio investments. Fugere brings nearly 15 years of experience investing in publicly traded health care companies across various levels of market capitalization. Before joining First Light, he was a senior research analyst following the health care sector at Wells Capital Management. While there, Fugere played a critical role in the selection and management of the health care-related holdings that represented nearly $3 billion of the Wells Capital Fundamental Growth Equity Team’s approximately $16 billion in total assets under management. Prior to his position at Wells Capital, Fugere was a senior research analyst at Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC, where he covered a broad array of health care services companies. Fugere began his health care research career at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray. “We are extremely excited to bring Chad’s considerable expertise to the First Light investment team,” said Matt Arens, chief executive officer, senior portfolio manager and founder of First Light. “His noteworthy, consistent track record of performance and excellent reputation among his peers for being a high-quality research analyst lead me to believe his contributions to the First Light Health Care Strategy are likely to be significant. I anticipate his valuable insights – drawn from years of experience investing in the health care space – will provide us the opportunity to further expand our rigorous fundamental analysis and investment identification process. I also am excited about Chad’s ability to contribute in a senior portfolio management capacity as First Light contemplates potential future product offerings.” - more 3300 Edinborough Way, Suite 201 Edina, MN 55435 TEL: 952-831-6500 FAX: 952-314-9600 EMAIL: [email protected] WEB: www.firstlightam.com “I feel fortunate to join First Light at a time when I believe the growth of the firm is at a positive inflection point,” commented Fugere. “In my view, the organization’s singular focus on the health care space and historically positive returns have helped generate tremendous excitement and energy around the firm. I look forward to applying the experience I’ve gained during my years following the health care space to help contribute to First Light’s future success.” About First Light Asset Management Founded in September 2013, First Light Asset Management is an investment firm focused on identifying health care companies it believes will provide high investment potential for its clients. The firm's investment strategy is largely driven by the conviction that a disproportionate number of health care innovations tend to come from smaller, more agile companies with disruptive technologies. As a result, First Light finds the greatest opportunities in micro- to small-cap public securities, balanced with positions in select mid- to large-cap companies. The firm invests in companies throughout the entire industry spectrum — from medical devices and equipment, and diagnostic tools, to health care information technology, biotech, health care services and specialty pharmaceutical companies.
