News from Galileo Garden: Farmers Market Spring Plant Sale May 7th and May 21st 8:00 – 8:30 am. May 16th 9:00 am – 3:00 The Galileo Gardens Farmers’ Market is returning to Galileo May 7th and 21st. Please plan to join us from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. both days to purchase fresh, organic produce grown by Galileo students. Students, family members, Galileo staff, and community members are all welcome. Selection will vary with the season, and quantities are limited. All proceeds go to support student learning in the Galileo Gardens program. Girls on the Run meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:15 pm Program starts March 2nd and will meet by the cafeteria doors. Check the D-11 website under “Summer Enrichment Series” for additional info Palmer High School International Baccalaureate Information The Palmer IB website can be found at www.d11.org/palmer (Click on IB on the left hand side) IB Middle Years classes are now available at both the entry level and the advanced (honors) level in all subject areas. A strong AVID program is in place to support college-bound students requiring additional skill building in order to gain academic momentum and skills. For those students interested in pursuing the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12, or Advanced Placement classes, we still recommend a full honors schedule beginning the freshmen year. AVID High School Program: AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is an academic, regularly scheduled elective class held during the school day, based on writing as a tool of learning, the inquiry method, and collaborative grouping.
