Reminder - School in Session on Oaks Day
Reminder, school will be in session on Friday, May 1 (Oaks Day). The day is
being used as a snow make-up day due to the inclement weather during the winter. If

Parkview M.S. Presents “The Lion King, Jr.”
The Parkview Middle School Theater is
proud to present The Lion King, Jr. on Friday,
April 24 and Saturday, April 25, both at 7:00
p.m. Don’t miss this production directed by
Parkview Middle School teacher KeNeisha Zell,
based on the Broadway production directed by
Julie Taymor. Tickets are $3.00 for students,

District Facilities Condition and Enrollment Forecast Report
On July 23, 2013, the district’s Board of School Trustees authorized Kovert Hawkins Architects to conduct a
comprehensive facility study to determine the condition of the district’s 26 buildings and to evaluate the potential impact
of future enrollment of those facilities. The study was completed on January 31, 2014 and the Superintendent and his
Executive Team have been reviewing the findings and considering possible options to address identified concerns
related to health and safety, as well as instructional quality.
In considering options, the district’s administration has utilized the expertise of Kovert Hawkins Architects, in terms
of facilities, and the expertise of Bond Counsel Thomas Peterson and Piper Jaffray Senior Vice-President David Wimmer
to look at the potential legal and financial implications of any possible facility enhancement plan.

would bring the district’s facilities up to current standards, while enhancing the instructional environment for all Greater
Clark County Schools’ students.

Open Enrollment - Retirement & Education Savings Plans
Greater Clark County Schools Board of Trustees has approved Mass Mutual as our vendor for our Tax Sheltered
Annuities - 403(b) and 457(b) accounts and for the 529 - Educational Savings Account. These representatives will be
in buildings during the month of May. The representatives for these accounts are:

All new enrollments and any increases in approved deductions must be made on the Salary Deferral Agreement
form and returned to the Human Resources Benefits Department at the Administration Building by no later than the end
of the day on May 29, 2015. You can get this form from a Mass Mutual representative. Remember, you can decrease
or cancel your deduction for these accounts at any time, but you can only enroll or increase your deduction during the
two open enrollment months (May and November). Please note that the month of November will now be the second
enrollment during the year. Employees over the age of 50 should consult with their advisor about special catch-up
provisions.
Local Law Enforcement Supports District Safety Initiative
Thank you to the Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #100 and the Clarksville Police Department for their
recent donations, $5,000 and $1,600 respectively, to help with the purchase of Raptor systems for the district. Raptor is
a visitor management software that is being utilized for security purposes. Visitors to our district buildings now have to
present their driver’s license and the Raptor system performs a quick background check. Student and staff safety is our
top priority and Greater Clark County Schools is thankful for the financial support from our local law enforcement!
Jeffersonville Area Elementary Art Show
The Jeffersonville area elementary schools will have an art show on display at the
Jeffersonville Public Library from Tuesday, April 28 to Tuesday, May 19 . Elementary schools
represented in the show include Bridgepoint, Thomas Jefferson, Spring Hill, Maple, Utica, and
Riverside. The purpose of the show is to recognize National Youth Art Month and to
emphasize the value of art education for our students and encourage support for quality art
programs. Artwork will be on display during normal business hours and the library is located at
211 East Court Avenue in Jeffersonville.
