Giovanni Maria Bresciani, born in 1987, studied at Accademia di Architettura di Mendriso, Switzerland, where he studied under Mario Botta, Michele Arnaboldi, Burkhalter Sumi, Go Hasegawa, and he received his Diploma in Master of Science in Architecture in 2013, with Professors

The aim of the project is creating a tower placed in an
empty urban area near the Museum designed by Herzog & de Meuron. The point of placing the tower in this
exact location is to embrace one of the most important avenue in Barcelona, known as La Diagonal, and
at the same time to create a connection between the
city center and the seaside. The site was approached in
a way to fill up the bank by changing the road network
and redefining the former emptiness.The luxury hotel
built inside this tower is 160 m high, it’s divided in 35
levels and has 50 fancy rooms.

The project area is located at the foot of Monte Generoso. Thanks to the geology of the mountain land
this region is famous for his delicious and tasteful
wine, this is the reason why most of the constructions built in this area are used as wine cellars.
The aim of the project is to erect a building that reflects the area’s tradition delivering two separate
sides, one as a winery and the other one for wine tasting. Always keeping respectfully in mind all the elements of the surrounding and especially the mountain.

The heterogeneous background that permeates the
ground around the square in Londrino is formed by multiple elements such as the core, the river, the old bridge
and other residential buildings. These elements are a
feature of this location and they create the objective
emptiness subject of this project. A pure volume will
insert itself with resolution in the framework creating
a new focus. The inequality of the soil that morphologically defines the ground will be cleared up by a base
on which it would be put a wooden monolith. This volume will inevitably create two squares and it will be the
switching element between the two, namely between
the civic square that would be built with a mineral paving and a green square upon the river, connected with
two flight of steps between them. On ground level we
could find the access to the apartments and the entrance to the business side. The two floors above will
be devoted to the apartments, the apartments will be
2 and 3 and a half bedrooms apartment, each one of
them with outdoors covered patios.
