At our March Meeting

Shannon Poe from AMRA was our guest speaker, great presentation thanks Shannon
Mr. Poe and I are requesting all members to send a letter to the BLM concerning your feelings on the
Carson City District Draft RMP/EIS, the comment period has been extended to April 27th 2015.
Mail letters to: BLM Carson City District, Attn: CCD RMP, 5665 Morgan Mill Rd., Carson City, NV 89701
Claim access cards are available for a $10.00 dollar donation for each claim you wish to prospect on.
Two changes were made to 2015 outings after presentation.
June 12, 13th and 14th. Planned outing to Forest Hill has been canceled instead we will have a day out to
an AMRA claim under our Healing our Heroes program, this trip will be one or two days June 13th and or
June 14th.
July 18th and 19th we will still have that outing as planned and we will be adding our Healing our Heroes
to the outing.
Special note to outings schedule:
May 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th. 5 Day trip. Sunstone Dig and Opal pay-site dig. The cost for the pay
dig at Kokopwlli Opals is $125.00 per day per person this price is contingent on a pay in advance with a
mim group size of 8 paid diggers. This is a bank dig thing not tailings dig. If you are interested in a 5 day
trip as a group please contact Marlene at (775) 842-0681, if you are going to pay to dig you must prepay
by the April meeting. Kokopwlli Opals has a no refund policy, so if you pay and do not go, no refund
given. If we do not get mim of 8 people paying to dig the cost goes up to 165.00 per day per person.
If you are going on this trip and want to dig for opals we must have pre-payment by April 27th, at the
next meeting.

2 hours from Reno
Meet at the Standard Station at 9 am located at Hwy 395 and Hwy 70 in California.
A brand new claim to the GPAAIf you have the knowledge look it up and come up with directions.
April 11th and 12th
Black Rock Desert - Overnight outing. – Meteorite - Dry
Meet at the Silverado Casino in Fernley at 9 am on April 11th.
April 18th
Sharon’s claim - Day trip – Gold -Wet
Meet at the Standard Station at 9 am located at Hwy 395 and Hwy 70 in California.
April 18th Explore the Great Outdoors 10a – 3p

Rancho San Rafael Regional Park
For the Explore the Outdoor event we will not be doing GOLD PANNING as the park removed the
panning flume. We will instead be partnering with Reno Detecting and Prospecting group to put on metal
detecting event. The day of this event is in conflict with our outing to Sharon’s claim if any member is
willing to help at the Explore the Outdoors event please contact Marlene or Larry.

Nevada Outdoor Experience,

Time: 9am – 1pm
Carson City, Capital City Gun Club
This event is in conflict with our joint outing with AMRA to one of their claims under our Healing our
Heroes program. If any member is willing to assist the Wild Sheep Foundation at this event teaching kids
how to gold pan please contact Marlene or Larry.
3) Boy Scout Challenge May 2nd, Start at 9:00 am location Cabela’s - Excepted
4) Girl Scout Challenge held at Cabela’s in July day not set yet. - Excepted
