PARISH COUNCIL:
We pray our new Parish Council Members will be devoted diakonises of Christ’s Church. They are: Victoria
Kantanas and Georgette Mandarakas. Kali Dynami!
FRIENDS AND GUESTS:
We extend a warm welcome to all the visitors worshiping with us today. Please join us after Liturgy for
the fellowship coffee hour in the Sumas Community Center. If you are a
Newcomer, WELCOME, and please tell us who you are. If you would like to be contacted by Father

HOLY COMMUNION:
Holy Communion is offered to Orthodox Christians who are baptized and chrismated in the Orthodox
Christian Faith. To receive Holy Communion, an Orthodox Christian must be properly prepared:
examination of conscience, Confession, reading the prayers for Holy Communion and proper fasting.
40-DAY BABY BLESSING:
A 40-Day Baby Blessing will be held for Alexander, son of Daniel and Marika Figueiredo. We pray that the
Lord will shine upon the path of his life and richly bless him and his family.
MEMORIAL SERVICES:
Today, a 10-year Memorial Service for Archbishop Iakovos of North and South America, a 40-day for
Christos Kallianes, (husband of Katina and father of Virginia, Lou and Evan), a 40-day for Zenovia Koukouli,
(mother of Litsa Kostidaki and Anna Hatsipetros), a 1-year for Ioannis Sotiriou (husband of Gesthimani) a
10-year for Ioannis Koukoulis, (husband of Marietta and father of Zenovia, Sophia and Panteli), a 7-year
for Elias Zantopoulos (husband of Katina and father of Sophia Athanasiou and Dr. Effie Zantopoulos
Deegan) and a 6-year for Phivos Athanasiou, (father of Panteli Athanasiou) also, a Trisagio for Catherine
Dendrinos (mother of Gerry, Helen Roubos and Barbara Lambert) and for Aphrodite Louvis (mother of
Mary Theodos and Efstathios Louvis).
May their memory be eternal!
UP-COMING MEMORIAL SERVICES: On Sunday, May 3rd, a 40 day Memorial Service for Dr. Michael Kottas
and a 20-year for Vasiliki Lampros.
FELLOWSHIP COFFEE HOUR is offered today by the Kallianes, Athanasiou and Zantopoulos families.
SOUP SALE:
Today, there will be a Minestrone Soup Sale – Hearty soup with salad and bread for $10.00. This Fund
Raiser is sponsored by the Philoptochos to benefit many charities.
FOR THE HEALING OF SOUL AND BODY: Names Submitted for prayers will be kept on the list for one
month. Please pray for, Demetrios, Panagiotis, Kyriakos, Eleni, Athanasia and Anthia.

PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS: The fund raising for St. Nicholas Shrine continues!
Scholarship Application: High School Graduating students who wish to apply may receive a form from the
church office or download it from the church website. Deadline for applications is June 1 2015.
