The Selection Panel will select athletes in rounds as explained below. The Selection Panel will prioritise athletes that they believe can realistically finish in the top six in Jersey. In the case where an athlete has achieved A or B standards in multiple events, they will be considered for selection for all aforementioned events during rounds 1 and 2 – if in the Team Manager’s opinion this will not detract from their performance in other events. In coming to this decision the Selection Panel will consider, in any order that they see fit, factors such as: • • • • • • The Power of 10 ranking lists, Previous Island Games results, Each athlete’s consistency of performances, Each athlete’s previous Championships performances, Head to Head performances, Current form and fitness References to A and B standards are to those set out in Part 2 of this Selection Policy. Round 3: (Relays) The selection panel may add athletes to the team to create relay squads for the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m at this stage.
