They’re finally here, all the way
from Mansfield, Ohio.
The much-anticipated carousel
characters, 44 in all, each represent a bit of Cincinnati style or
history.
There’s a giraffe, a bee, horses
and more.
Encased in a glass structure,
Carol Ann’s Carousel will be open
year-round beginning May 16 in
Smale Riverside Park.
Rides are free on the first day.
The $1.1 million merry-go-round
was built by Carousel Works in
Mansfield and features paintings
on panels on top by local artist
Jonathan Queen. It is a gift to the
city from the Carol Ann & Ralph V.
Haile Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation.
The opening coincides with the
late Carol Ann Haile’s birthday.
