This youth house gives adolescents the chance to participate in a Life-Career program that is designed to build strong entrepreneurial skills. Tasks include
managing the inventory in the cafeteria, cooking meals, and serving customers.
› Lire et faire lire Acadie $5,000
Les petits pas vers la littéracie initiative gives young, underprivileged children an appreciation for reading through activities hosted by senior volunteers.
› Polyvalente Roland Pépin $2,500
The Après-midis d’apprentis is offered to students in grades 7, 8 and 9 to help them discover and develop their talents and skills. Participants take part
in practical workshops that are focused on their interests and taught by people in the community.
› Succès jeunesse Péninsule acadienne $5,000
Mon entreprise jeunesse is a program created to instil an entrepreneurial spirit in children. It teaches young people from grades 9 to 12 the ins and outs
of the business world through the hands-on management of a mini-business over a period of 15 weeks.

The Skills and Thrills program makes 4-H activities more accessible. Offered after school to children between the ages of 8 and 12 by teenagers (16 and up), the 4-H
program engages young people with a wide range of activities targeted towards building their communications skills and sense of belonging in the community.

It gives them access to a wide range of sports and recreational activities supervised by qualified personnel.
› Club des navigateurs Internet de Pointe-au-Père $2,000
Le Projet Rose-des-Vents offers computer workshops, including sessions in dyslexia and dysgraphia that target youth with learning difficulties. Thanks to
this project, organizers are doing their part to convince young people especially boys, to stay in school.
› École de cirque des Îles $10,000
This circus school gives troubled youth from 12 to 25 the opportunity to practice a circus activity for free in a safe environment in order to motivate them
to pursue their studies. Social workers and circus instructors are always on hand to supervise their training and help build their self-esteem.
› École des Vieux-Moulins $5,000
La collation de l’OPP offers underprivileged youth food and snacks to help boost their concentration in the classroom, which will ultimately help them
succeed at school.
› École le Bois-Vivant $2,300
Bon Matin is a project run by the school that offers healthy snacks to students that do not have the means to bring lunch. Organizers hold regular tasting
events giving students a wide variety of healthy foods to sample.

Le Transit is a shelter that opens their doors to 80 young people every year who are homeless or on the road to becoming homeless. They offer a place
to stay and help them through numerous problems associated with mental health, social isolation, and psychological distress.

The La serre vie program aims to set up a greenhouse at the school which will be managed by the students under the supervision of school personnel.
Vegetables harvested from the greenhouse will become healthy snacks for students, be sold in the cafeteria, and even be distributed to collective kitchens
in the area at the end of the school year.

This high school set up a massive project to help underprivileged students by offering food assistance programs for breakfast and lunch, food banks for
families in the community, extracurricular activities, tutoring and preparation for exams.
› Queen Elizabeth High School Edmonton Public School Board $15,000
This school board wants to teach the staff and parents from 19 of their schools about the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. The goal is to reduce or
prevent the effects of bullying including depression, health problems and low self-esteem.
› READ Saskatoon $15,000
This organization offers financial literacy workshops (asset management, budgeting, credit, consumerism) to street kids, young parents, and young adults
from 15 to 29, as well as First Nation members, Métis and recent immigrants.
› Y.E.S.S.: Youth Empowerment & Support Services $5,000
Focused on the well-being and development of youth, this program has been set-up to give 16 children the opportunity to participate in an after school
activity in the hopes of helping them reach their full potential and develop a healthy and positive lifestyle.

Members of this program organize monthly birthdays for children who live at Inn from the Cold (a refuge for homeless families). They bring cake and
