LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Greetings, and welcome to Winter Tennis in Healesville.
Take the opportunity to enjoy the facilities,
and mop up wet courts if necessary.
Over the past 3 months we’ve enjoyed the Ladies
Tournament, and won 2 Junior Tennis Premierships.
Congratulations to all players. (Details page 3 &4).
The Committee has updated the By Laws. A copy is available
from our Secretary, and there is a hard copy in the Club
Rooms. All Convenors will also be given a copy.

EVENTS, ACTIVITES AND CLUB NEWS
BUNNINGS SAUSAGE SIZZLE
Our Sunday 29th March sausage sizzle was a great
success, with a number of tennis club members assisting for the first time. We made a profit of
$1777.55. My sincere thanks to members who assisted
on the day including, Peter Brown, Dot McMaster,
Anne & John Knibbs, Chris Wittkopp, Kathy, Ruth
and Robert Cameron, Irene Leonard and Phil
Kehoe. Our next Sausage Sizzle is on Friday 29th May

SENIOR CONVENOR’S REPORT
We have entered 3 teams into the ERT Winter
Saturday competition, They are Open Sections 3 and
5 and singles/doubles section 3. At this stage, the two
section 3 teams are holding their own and doing quite
well, but the section 5 team is struggling, as we had
requested a considerably lower section for this team to
enable us to give some younger players senior experience, and allow some of our older players to participate as well. Best wishes for an enjoyable season.

JUNIOR CONVENOR REPORT
For Summer ERT Junior finals results please see pg 3.
The 2015 Winter Season commenced on 18th April,
and this season we have 4 teams entered: JOSD4,
JOSD7, Girls 5 and JDC3. I would like to welcome
new junior members to our club: Tom Holloway and
Ethan Nikcevich. Good luck to all our juniors for the

TUESDAY NIGHT TENNIS
We are now half way through the season and it is
looking like a great battle with at least four teams all
within reach of top spot. The grand final will be on
23rd of June and a reminder that this will also be an
end of season social might- BYO drinks and nibbles.
We are always looking for people to fill in or if you are
interested in joining next season please contact me ~

WORKING BEE
Thank you most sincerely to Peter
Brown, Phil Kehoe, Robert Crozier,
John Knibbs and Alan Honeycombe
who assisted me on the day - the
garden pruning was a huge job,
but the result is most pleasing. The exterior of the
club rooms has also been cleaned.
ANZ Hot Shots Community Play
The 6 week Hot Shots program conducted
by Kathy Cameron was most successful
with 43 participants commencing, and 31 completing
the program. The children were all excited receiving
their Hot Shots T shirts. My sincere thanks to Kathy
and a number of other assistants who supported the
program. These young
people are our tennis players of the future, and we
must encourage them. The
next program will be

conducted during October/November 2015.
EASTERN REGION SUMMER TENNIS
Our Junior teams enjoyed a wonderful season of tennis winning two
Premierships and a Runner up Championship.
Congratulations to all players.
GIRLS 6 ~ L-R Caitlyn Cosson, Lucy Flamsteed

This team defeated Koonung Park
3 sets, 30 games to 3 sets, 26 games.

Laurence This team defeated Monbulk
6 sets, 43 games to 2 sets, 34 games.
The 2014/2015 Summer season
Grand Finals were played on 21st March.
Our Girls 6 team and JOSD7 team were
Premiers and our JOSD9 team were
Runners-up. Congratulations to all players.
I would also like to say farewell to
Kelson Barber who played his last season with
the Juniors, after many years competing.
I am pleased to see Kelson playing on a
Saturday afternoon in seniors!
