The Music Performance Day is Monday April 27th, 2015.
*8:30am-4th grade *9:15am-3rd grade *10:00am-1st grade *1:15pm-2nd grade *2:10pm-5th grade
Please show up about 10 minutes early, as every performance needs to start on time to keep us on track
for the day. We look forward to seeing you there!
PTA News
Hearst Meetup at the PPIE Run
On your mark, get set, go! The 3rd annual Pleasanton Run for Education is this Sunday, April 12, 2015.
The 15k starts at 7:15 a.m., the 10k at 7:20 a.m. and the 5k at 7:30 a.m. The Kids Challenge race starts at
9 a.m.
There will be a Hearst meetup starting at 6:45 a.m. at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Look for the
Hearst banner and wish your fellow runners good luck prior to the race. Those who show up wearing their
racing bibs will receive a complimentary Hearst sweatband, courtesy of the PTA.
Post-race, a family fitness expo will include free giveaways from race sponsors and children's activities.
Spring Book Fair
The spring book fair urgently needs 1 parent volunteer supervisor for Monday, May 11- Thursday, May 14th
from 8:30 – 12:00 pm. Responsibilities include:
Being available from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
Open the book fair and start the cash registers.
Make sure Cash registers have change and different cash denominations.
Answer any questions about the fair to the students and volunteers.
Responsible for cash/checks.
Cash register help for parent volunteers.
Head chairperson will train this person on all the items above. There will be volunteers working the fair but
a supervisor is needed to oversee the room. Book fair will be held in the MUR and students will come
during class library time (no lunch hours) to ease the lines and chaos. Mrs. Taylor will also be at the fair
during these hours to help you. Please contact Noreen Senner if you are interested in being morning

Monarch Night Out
Hearst Monarch Painting Party will be at Mangia Mi, in Pleasanton, on Tuesday, April 21st from 6:00
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost per ticket will be $35, with $15 going back to our school. 25 max so tickets will go

Hearst Monarchs, if you weren't able to attend our annual Gala, you can still donate. The website is:

assistance, implementation of the new Common Core State Standards, Intervention Specialist hours, and

International Fair (formerly Multicultural Fair)
Have you ever dreamed of going around the world? Dream no more. Be part of Hearst International Fair
and help Hearst students go around the globe in one day. The International Fair committee is looking
for countries to be represented during the fair. If you’ve been to a country on vacation, have lived there,
or just simply fascinated by a country, you can showcase a country. The fair will be held on Friday, May 1

PTA Legislative Advocacy Day - April 17th
Join other parents, education experts and community members for an enlightening and energizing day
focused on this year's theme: Education Adequacy. Hear from legislators, education insiders and
representatives from California Forward, Educate our State and Evolve California on how we might engage
the public for positive change. Lunch is included in registration fee. Click here for details or to
