Helmar Heartlines 815-695-5489 [email protected] Heartline...from the Pastor Victory! “But the angel answered and said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.” Matthew 28:5-6 General Wellington commanded the victorious forces at the great battle of Waterloo that effectively ended the Napoleonic wars. When the battle was over, Wellington sent the great news of his victory to England. A series of stations, one within sight of the next, had been established to send code messages between England and the continent. The message to be sent was "Wellington defeated Napoleon at Waterloo." Meanwhile a fog set in and interrupted the message. As a result, people only saw part of the message, "Wellington defeated" Later, the fog cleared and the full message continued, which was quite different from the earlier message. The same is true today. When many look at what happened on Good Friday, the death of Christ, they see only defeat. But on Easter, at the Resurrection, God's message was completed. The resurrection spelled Victory. In the passage above the words that stand out to me are the last three words, "as He said". When Christ says something, He means it, and it will be fulfilled. We are wise to take Christ at His word because His word has never, nor ever will fail. The promise is that He will come back again to take all who are trusting in Him to heaven. Christ has already completed the victory by rising from the grave on Easter. The only thing left to do to complete His word is to come back for all those who are victorious with Him. In Christ, Pastor James Molstre Mother-DaughterFriend Tea This year’s tea will be Saturday, May 9th. We look forward to hearing from our speaker, Jen Johnson. But I never knew an Eater, Like that glad first dawn could be, Till the Lord of all the Easters lived in me! There have been a thousand Easters, With their glory breaking through; They have made a thousand, thousand hopes come true. But you’ll never know an Easter, Like those first disciples knew Till the day the Lord of Easter comes to you!
