HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER
MARCH 23 2015
Dear parents,
As our Easter break is quickly approaching, I would encourage each of you to faithfully participate in as many of the Holy Week celebrations as you and your family
are able:
Holy Family
Catholic School
Mission
The schedule below is that of Holy Family Parish.
th
March 29
Palm Sunday
March 30th 7:00pm Parish Reconciliation Service. This is a wonderful opportunity
to receive this sacrament as we are obliged as Catholics to receive the Sacrament
of Reconciliation and Eucharist at least once a year. The Precepts of the Catholic
Church are a description of the absolute minimum actions required of Catholics
regarding the Church.
The Church uses these precepts to remind us that Christian life requires a commitment to prayer and active participation in the liturgy and sacraments. If we fall below this bare-minimum level, we can't rightly consider ourselves to be in full communion with the Catholic Church.
Each of these precepts of the Catholic Church is a requirement. Together with
the Ten Commandments, they represent the minimum level of moral living. Intentional violation of the precepts or the Commandments is a grave matter, meaning
a mortal sin.
The Precepts
You shall attend Mass on Sundays and on holy days of obligation and rest from servile labor.
We must "sanctify the day commemorating the Resurrection of the
Lord" (Sunday), as well as the principal feast days, known as Catholic
holy days of obligation. This requires attending Mass, "and by resting
from those works and activities which could impede such a sanctification of these days."
You shall confess your sins at least once a year.
We must prepare for the Eucharist by means of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). This sacrament "continues Baptism's work of
conversion and forgiveness."
You shall receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter season.

Holy Family Catholic School
is an educational ministry of
Holy Family Catholic Church
serving students in early
education through eighth
grade.
Our mission is to inspire our
students, through word and
example, the beautiful Gospel message of Jesus Christ;
in a supportive and caring
learning environment
where each child is encouraged to strive for academic
excellence and grow in
faith, knowledge, and love.
"Go forth and teach all nations . . . teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28: 19,20

THE POWER OF PRAYER
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for
your prayers and words of encouragement and support towards my Mom and family during this difficult time.
I am in peace knowing that Mami is not in pain and
suffering anymore. She is in heaven with my Dad
and brother Jose in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
A new angel watching over us.
I had the blessing of spending the last five days of
my Mom's life in the hospital with her. Time I spent
reflecting about life, praying, thanking her for everything she did for me and my family, and the love she
gave to all of us and everyone she met. Particularly,
her last night; I played her all night long Christian
Music and the Divine Mercy Chaplet song. I can
honestly say that I felt the love of God in that room
embracing the two of us with His Mercy. It was a
peace and tranquility that only God can give us.
Thank you again and I will be eternally grateful!
Love and blessings,
