It has truly been my privilege to work at a school with such amazing students who put forth their best effort every day, and parents who support the school’s initiatives. I leave you with the finest faculty and staff who are passionate about teaching and constantly strive to create students who are passionate about learning. Thank you for all that you have done to support me in my efforts to make Hammond Hill Elementary the best that it can “bee.” Sincerely, Janet Vaughan *Important* Spring Testing Dates 4/30– ACT Aspire Math (Grades 3-5) 5/5– ACT Aspire Science (Grades 3-5) 5/7– SC PASS Science (Grades 4-5) 5/8– SC PASS Social Studies (Grades 4-5) * Testing will occur between 7:45-10:30 each day. Mrs. Griffis’ Class would like to send a GREAT BIG THANK YOU for the “Clap and Shout Out” celebration we received as we anxiously boarded the bus to Midland Valley HS where Special Olympics was held this year. We are so grateful for the enthusiastic send-off and display of school spirit! The preschool students loved it, and they had a great time at the event! Talent Show Auditions! It’s that time again! Auditions for Hammond Hill Elementary School’s annual talent show will be held on Tuesday, May 12 (4th Graders) and Wednesday, May 13 (5th Graders) at 12:25 pm each day in the school media center. All 4th and 5th graders are eligible to audition by singing, dancing or playing an instrument. If a student has a talent other than those listed, they must have their audition pre-approved. If the student is singing, it is STRONGLY recommended that they provide musical accompaniment, i.e., a karaoke CD or mobile device. They may audition as a solo or as an ensemble. Ensembles will be evaluated as a group and not as individual performers. The show will be held during the school day on Tuesday, May 26, when those who have been selected will perform for the student body. All students wishing to audition must sign up in the music room. Spirit Nights On April 29th and May 11th treat your family to Zaxby’s while you support our school. The Knox Avenue location of Zaxby’s will host the last Spirit Nights of the school year. The Zaxby’s mascot will be at school during the last 30 minutes of the day.
