HIDA Releases Analysis
on Permanent SGR Fix
HIDA’s Government Affairs team recently provided detailed analysis of the Medicare Access
and CHIP Reauthorization Act (HR 2), which repeals and replaces the Sustainable Growth
Rate (SGR) formula used to control physician payment rates. In mid-April, the U.S. Senate
overwhelmingly approved the House bill to permanently fix the long-maligned SGR formula
and replace it with a payment system rewarding quality, efficiency, and innovation. HIDA
