Tuesday 5/26 – Paper DUE Part 1 – Torpedo Design: 1. Draw a detailed picture of your torpedo. Be sure to label all parts and materials used. 2. Construct ONE prototype of your design to test in lab. Test once constructed. What observations do you notice? List any changes you would make. 3. Draw a revised picture of your torpedo with any changes made after the initial test. 4. Construct THREE of your revised torpedoes. Part 2 – Proceedure and Data Collection: In your prelab you calculated the perfect amount of reactants needed to propel your torpedo the farthest. These amounts will be trial 1. Trials 2 and 3 will be smaller amounts of either baking soda or vinegar. ONLY one of these can be changed! 1. Write a procedure for filling your torpedoes and collecting data. Be sure to mention recording mass of vinegar, mass of baking soda, distance and time. 2. Collect data into the following data table. It must also include a title and your name and hour in the upper right hand corner. This paper is to be done INDIVIDUALLY! This form MUST be turned in when you turn in your paper! Use the headings for each section: I. You may need to reword it. - Your “because” portion could be your calculations for the max amount of CO2 produced III. (What did you calculate?) **There are multiple answers - Controls: What measured amounts did you keep the same? IV. Procedure What was your process? - How did you make your torpedo? (This should include steps and a labeled picture, See Part 1) - How did you collect your data? (see Part 2 number 1) V.
