GUEST SPEAKER: MR. CHRIS DIONNE, HEAD OF AUSTRALASIA, SHIRLAWS GROUP
Every business has a value, the art is to work out how to read a cycle and focus on the areas in
the business that increase both the bottom line and increase the multiple.
In simple terms, the valuation formula for a business can be defined as:
Valuation = Profit x Multiple (“V = P x M”)
Chris will share some key frameworks with you that Shirlaws have used for hundreds of
companies every year for over 16 years to increase their value.

Speaker Bio: Mr. Chris Dionne, Head of Australasia, Shirlaws Group
Chris is a founding partner of the Shirlaws Group of companies, an organisation that advisors
and supports private enterprises on how to grow, fund, exit and realise the potential of one
of their biggest assets - their business. By leveraging the Shirlaws Group capabilities Chris has
been instrumental in expanding the enterprise globally over the past 15 years by using the
tools and methodologies developed by the group.
Chris truly understands the value of building solid foundations for an enterprise. Chris’ current
role as Head of Australasia for both Shirlaws Coaching and Assay Advisory has Chris working
with best in class business heads supporting them in their strategic objectives and overall
business/personal goals to improve their assets.
Chris’ intimate knowledge of the Asia Pacific rim has seen his skill set transferred to many
businesses in Malaysia, China, Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong. Clients in these
countries that have utilised Shirlaws Group IP achieved a competitive advantage over their industry peers.
In Chris’ view many enterprises have underperformed through market cycles and are not aware of the hidden value within
their business. By focusing on key areas of business they have increased their performance and therefore their overall
value.
A key outcome for clients is learning how to extract and leveraging the hidden value in a business. Clients learn the
fundamental elements of both business and economic cycles given Chris’ funds management background and experience
so they can achieve their full potential and reap the rewards. In utilising these skills and the Shirlaws Group IP Chris and
his founding partners grew Shirlaws Australia to be on the BRW Fast 100 list 2 years running in 2003 – 7th place & 2004 –
57th place.
